Our client is seeking a US market Accountant (Vietnam based) to play a pivotal role in managing financial data, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the overall financial health and integrity of their office in the US. This role will plays a crucial part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, providing accurate financial information for decision-making, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.
What you'll do:
As a US market Accountant, you will be at the heart of our client's finance department. Your role will involve ensuring accurate accounting in line with US GAAP, leading month-end close processes, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable, overseeing fixed assets, supporting audits, collaborating with external auditors, enhancing team efficiency through cross-training, developing business processes for strong internal controls. You will also assist with system implementations and handle ad hoc tasks.
- Ensure accurate accounting in compliance with US GAAP.
- Lead and contribute to month-end close processes including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (separate and consolidated).
- Manage Accounts Payable and treasury functions as needed.
- Oversee fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and tax matters.
- Review and file all accounting and tax-related documents.
- Support audits and collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Work with other departments to ensure accurate transaction accounting.
- Enhance team efficiency through cross-training and backup support.
- Develop and document business processes to maintain strong internal controls.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this US market Accountant position will bring a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance along with strong knowledge of US GAAP. You should have 4-5 years of relevant experience preferably in global operations or tech/startup environments. A deep understanding of accounting principles and international standards is required. Proficiency in English and Excel is essential while NetSuite experience would be an added advantage. We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual who can multitask in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills are key, along with leadership experience and a track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (ACCA preferred).
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
