Finance & Accounting Lead (International Manufacturing company)

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance and Accounting Lead to join a thriving organisation based in Ho Chi Minh City. This pivotal role offers you the chance to take full ownership of the finance function in Vietnam, encompassing accounting, treasury, tax, statutory compliance, and financial governance.

What you'll do:

As Finance and Accounting Lead you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for all financial matters within the Vietnam operation. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with both local management and international colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of financial information that supports business objectives. In addition to managing core accounting functions such as AR/AP processing and fixed asset oversight using SAP systems, you will also play a crucial role in risk mitigation by monitoring changes in tax legislation. Your ability to foster process improvements will help drive efficiency throughout the department. By acting as the main liaison for external stakeholders during audits or inspections—and by providing timely analysis for ad-hoc projects—you will contribute significantly to the company’s ongoing success.

  • Oversee finance function in Vietnam by managing accounting operations, tax compliance, treasury activities, statutory reporting obligations, and maintaining strong financial controls across all processes.
  • Collaborate closely with local management teams to provide clear financial insights that support operational decision-making and explain variances between actuals and budgets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax agents, and government authorities during audits or statutory reviews while ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing internal controls and streamlining processes to align with group policies as well as local regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with global and regional finance teams to deliver timely financial reporting packages in accordance with IFRS standards while ensuring accuracy in management reports.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Vietnam’s statutory requirements by overseeing AR/AP processes including invoice verification, SAP postings, VAT invoicing, issue resolution, and transactional tasks when necessary.
  • Manage fixed assets from capitalization through depreciation to disposals while performing monthly and annual reconciliations within SAP systems.
  • Lead month-end closing activities by posting journals accurately and reconciling general ledger accounts against subsidiary ledgers to maintain data integrity.
  • Supervise cash flow management including forecasting needs, scheduling payments efficiently, conducting daily bank reconciliations, and handling banking operations.

What you bring:

  • A master or bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is required; professional certifications such as ACCA or VACPA are highly regarded as they demonstrate advanced technical proficiency.
  • Five to eight years’ experience working across accounting, finance or tax functions is essential; prior exposure within manufacturing environments is particularly valued due to sector-specific complexities.
  • Proficiency in English—both written and spoken—is necessary for effective communication with regional teams as well as external partners or authorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a small team structure highlights your reliability while fostering interdependence among colleagues.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff members is advantageous as it supports ongoing team development within the finance function.

What sets this company apart:

This organisation stands out thanks to its unwavering commitment to employee well-being alongside professional achievement. The workplace culture values inclusivity—supporting under-represented groups—and encourages ongoing learning through exposure to international best practices via close collaboration with regional teams. Here you’ll find not just a job but a place where your career can flourish alongside your personal life.
