Finance Manager (Hanoi)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager (Hanoi) to join a respected international consultancy firm in Hanoi, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial health of the business. Reporting to the Regional Financial Controller based overses and dotted line to Vietnam Country Manager, this position offers the chance to take ownership of all accounting and financial management activities, ensuring robust controls and accurate reporting across the organisation.

What you'll do:

Financial Reporting
- Lead month-end closing activities, including journal entries, bank and intercompany reconciliations, and preparation of balance sheet schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules for Group reporting, including variance commentary.
- Monitor aged items and control accounts; investigate discrepancies and collaborate with stakeholders to drive timely resolution.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts in coordination with the shared services, business, and credit control teams.
- Manage working capital effectively, including repatriation of surplus funds and loan drawdowns to maintain liquidity.
- Provide operational support to Group Treasury, including bank access, signatory management, and account administration.

Tax Compliance
- Oversee preparation and timely submission of monthly corporate tax and SST/GST returns.
- Liaise with tax advisors on tax-related matters and support the preparation of tax estimates and annual tax filings.
- Ensure full compliance with local tax legislation and evolving financial reporting standards.

Audit Management
- Serve as the key contact for external audits, coordinating data requests, schedules, and audit documentation.
- Review draft audited accounts, identify potential audit issues, and communicate findings to senior management.
- Finalize audited financial statements, including submission to Group and system implementation of post-audit adjustments.

Others
- Supervise payroll processes in close collaboration with HR to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with labor and tax laws.
- Review and approve ad hoc and batch vendor payments, ensuring compliance with policies and payment schedules.
- Monitor overhead expenditures, implementing efficiency measures to align with budget forecasts.
- Maintain up-to-date statutory and corporate records, including payment portals, SOPs, and logbooks.
- Identify and implement internal control enhancements to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with Shared Services and Business Support teams to deliver accurate and timely statutory and management reporting.
- Support ad hoc finance projects and initiatives as directed by senior management.

What you bring:

  • 10-15 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting within international companies; with professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) combined with thorough knowledge of local regulatory frameworks governing tax compliance.
  • Proficient in ERP systems e.g. Microsoft D365 along with advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and analytical tasks.
  • Proven leadership capabilities gained from working within matrixed environments where cross-functional teamwork is essential for achieving outcomes.
  • Display excellent command of English language skills—both written and spoken—with an ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain high levels of organisation with meticulous attention to detail when managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Bring resourcefulness coupled with self-motivation that enables effective performance even when navigating ambiguity or complexity within evolving business contexts.
