Facility and Maintenance Manager (Newly setup plant)

An exciting Facility and Maintenance Manager job has arisen in a leading automotive firm in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.

About this Facility and Maintenance manager role:

As the first Facility & Maintenance Manager for this newly setup plant, you will be critical in setting up facilities in the initial phase for this plant and responsible for overseeing all installation, repair, and upkeep operations. Facility and Maintenance manager ensure that their co-workers have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to the allotted budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for setting up new facility include document preparation and site supervisor
• Organisation of equipment maintenance system
• Inspecting equipment/tooling and conducting routine maintenance.
• Creation / Configuration for production
• Writing work instructions for production staff
• Participation in the organisation of the production process
• Organisation of the equipment/tooling repair process
• Introduction of TPM system (preventive and urgent repair)
• Inspecting equipment/tooling and conducting routine maintenance.
• Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner.
• Troubleshooting equipment/tooling malfunctions
• Ensuring that work carried out complies with Health & Safety legislation
• Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
• Liaise with client departments, internal customers and other engineering and production colleagues
• Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
• Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs
• Improve health and safety policies and procedures
• Maintaining manufacturing processes
• Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required
• Operate maintenance forklift truck and elevated working platform as required
• Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary
• Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults and concerns to Manager
• Make full use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment

In order to succeed in this role, great experience with Facilities management for newly setup plant is preferred.

Key Requirements:

• Mechanical & electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications
• Extensive experience as a qualified maintenance / service engineer operating in an industrial environment
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems
• Experience in manufacturing companies with a large amount of equipment
• Creation of equipment repair plans (budget and risk analysis)
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of industry safety standards (fire, electrical etc)
• English – Confident oral and written communication
• Good practical and technical skills
• Communication skills
• An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
• The ability to work quickly and under pressure
• The ability to manage a varied workload
• Good problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures
• Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels
• Providing support and recommendations
