What you'll do:
As an SMT Engineering Supervisor, your role will be pivotal in overseeing all aspects of the SMT process. You will provide invaluable technical support for both new and existing products while ensuring that all machinery and equipment are optimised for production. Your ability to coordinate engineering activities across various departments will be crucial in meeting customer requirements. Additionally, you will manage the NPI process and provide training for engineers and technicians. Your commitment to continuous improvement will drive success in this role.
- Oversee all activities related to SMT machines, equipment, tools, jigs, fixtures, and the SMT process.
- Provide technical support to review the design for manufacturing on new and existing products.
- Coordinate engineering activities between SMT, Project Engineer, Quality departments to ensure product meets customer requirements.
- Manage the machine, equipment, tool, jig, fixture, and spare parts.
- Monitor the NPI process and support design for manufacturing review.
- Train engineers and technicians to ensure they can handle their job independently.
- Perform other duties and special tasks given from seniors to achieve company objectives.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the SMT Engineering Supervisor position brings a wealth of experience in automation, electronics or mechanical engineering. With at least five years' experience manipulating programming for SMT lines under your belt, you have developed an in-depth understanding of SMT processes. Your proficiency in process analysis and control tools sets you apart from others. You possess strong communication skills which allow you to effectively collaborate with various teams. Your solid experience in quality management coupled with your knowledge of IPC standards makes you a valuable asset. Furthermore, your ability to design tools and JIGs for manual processes demonstrates your innovative thinking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in manipulating, programming for SMT line.
- In-depth understanding of SMT processes.
- Proficient in process analysis and control tools such as SPC, Pareto Chart, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and 8D Report.
- Strong communication skills.
- Solid experience in quality management with knowledge of IPC standards.
- Capable of designing tools and JIGs for manual processes.
- Good English communication skills.
