Senior Merchandiser (Furniture)

An crucial Senior Merchandiser role is now available at one a Europe's popular retail chain. Reporting to the Country Manager, this postion will be part of a merchandising team, looking after furniture category.

About the Senior Merchandiser Role:

In this role, you are responsible from supplier identification and sourcing to product development, production and on time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify the best suppliers able to provide the most competitive products at the best purchasing conditions to meet the countries demand in compliance with legal and quality requirements of the group
• Development of new products
• Provide qualitative & accurate reports to his management
• Assist buyer during their sourcing or purchase trip in Asia
• Set up short-lived showroom for buyer presentation once to twice a year
• Ensure products competitiveness of current supplier and new reliable suppliers
• Ensures satisfactory quality & on time delivery for all products
• Conduct negotiations to guaranty the best purchase conditions
• Respond timely to requests and provide clear information of additional opportunities to DCMG
• Anticipate market situation to show professionalism to the buying countries
• Communicate clear information to country buyers, colleagues and hierarchy on a regular basis
• Follow-up key indicators of activity: shipment timing, sourcing follow-up, negotiation follow-up

To succeed in this role, you must have good communication skills in English.

Key Requirements:

• Five to seven years of experience in merchandising or sourcing position
• hands-on experience with furniture products
• able to handle business of USD 10-20 mil. per annum
