Finishing Director - Furniture

An exciting Finishing Director job has arisen in a leading furniture firm in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.

About this Finishing Director Role:

Report to the COO/CEO, this role will be key in ensuring all technical R&D related to finishing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the team to create all the necessary material for production according to the production planning,
• Make sure all panel have been approved as needed
• Understand the customer request; review the customer request and make sure it friendly and efficiency in production
• Be a strong support to the product development team to propose the adequate solutions to customer for appearance, quality and cost
• Control and approve the system sheet
• Manage the finishing sample workshop according to the quality, cost and delivery requested by the customer
• Make sure all the material is up to date for productions running; Make sure all first off products are created for production reference
• Check on each finishing step to make sure no deviation in terms of quality and process as per the system sheet
• Assist production team facing to any problems, be involved and provide solution to solve quickest and permanently
• Revisit all old process to see anywhere on material and process to improve the quality, speed up process and material cost reduction
• Develop any new method / technically to improve cost and quality; Optimise and reduce the number of existing finishing
• Provide technical training to production and technical support team
• Elaborate and improve the finishing training program

In order to succeed in this role, strong technical experience in furniture finishing is required.

• Good judgement and being sensitive on finishing look
• Finishing quality issues experienced and resolving capability
• Strong leadership, be able to growth a team and share his experience
• Finishing testing requirements well understanding
• Good relationship with clients and suppliers
• Furniture finishing production organisation well experienced
• Understand major finishing styles in the furniture market
