What you'll do:

As a Senior Merchandising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our client's operations. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of creating long-lasting business relationships, providing valuable input on product design, managing a dedicated team, establishing a robust vendor network, and uncovering new business opportunities. Your ability to manage merchandising activities effectively while ensuring smooth production processes will be crucial in this role. Additionally, your commitment to coaching and developing your team will contribute significantly towards achieving the company's strategic goals.

  • Create and enhance long-term business relationships with customers to maximise business growth and opportunities
  • Provide advice and suggestions on product design to facilitate cost-saving and enhance product sales
  • Manage the team to achieve division’s business objectives and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Establish and maintain a strong local and regional vendor network to meet customers’ current and future business needs
  • Develop new business opportunities with customers
  • Manage the team’s merchandising activities to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide solutions and support to ensure smooth production and manufacturing process
  • Monitor sales performance, budget analysis and implementation
  • Propose and implement solutions to achieve sourcing strategies for specific items
  • Coach and develop a quality team including succession planning and regular performance reviews

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Merchandising Manager role brings a wealth of experience in Hardline, particularly within the European & US market. You have a proven track record working with large retailers and possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related discipline. With at least 10 years' relevant experience under your belt, you have strong product and material knowledge and are familiar with the merchandising and product development process. Your excellent communication skills, self-motivation, responsiveness, and attention to detail set you apart. As a natural leader, you excel at building strong relationships with your team and communicating effectively with all parties involved.

  • Experience in Hardline (e.g., Furniture, home décor, houseware), European & US market
  • Experience working with giant retailers in European market with high purchasing volume is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant experience
  • Strong product and material knowledge with good development skills, familiar with merchandising and product development process
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, responsive and detail minded
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the team as a good team leader, communicate effectively with internal and external parties
  • Well organised individual, able to manage multiple tasks, strong problem-solving skills, able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Literate in Microsoft office programs
