Our client, a global leader in engineered polymer solutions, is seeking a Mould Design Engineer to join their team. What you'll do:

As a Mould Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimising moulds used in the manufacturing process. You will utilise your strong understanding of mould design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to ensure the production of high-quality and efficient moulds. Your responsibilities will also include creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD. You will continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in mould design and manufacturing.

  • Design and develop compression moulds, injection mould manufacturing processes.
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in mould design and manufacturing.
  • Coordinate support for daily, weekly, process and administrative checks.
  • Identify poor production moulds, raise awareness to production support, ensure thorough investigations.
  • Assist in all quality deviations identified, initiate immediate action plans.
  • Analyse new product specifications and translate these into manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOP) and train manufacturing personnel on SOPs.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Mould Design Engineer position brings a wealth of experience in mould design engineering. With at least three years of experience working specifically with mould design, you are proficient in compression/injection mould design techniques. Your ability to use mould design software for reading/creating mould drawings sets you apart from others. You have a strong understanding of mould design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD is a must, as is experience with mould flow analysis tools. Your excellent problem-solving and analysis skills will be crucial in this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education in Mechanical/Process/Production Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years engineering experience working in mold design.
  • Proficiency in Compression/ Injection Mold design techniques.
  • Ability in using Mold design software for reading/creating mold drawing.
  • Strong understanding of mold design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
