What you'll do:
- Guide and manage a team responsible for creating, reviewing, and approving production processes for all products prior to manufacturing commencement, ensuring feedback from production is incorporated into ongoing improvements.
- Oversee the development of critical work instructions by your team, including thorough review, approval, and delivery of effective training sessions to ensure understanding across departments.
- Direct the accurate measurement of cycle times for each product or group of products, establishing standardised benchmarks that drive consistency and efficiency throughout the production process.
- Champion initiatives aimed at improving process yield for materials such as wood veneer, MDF, or glue, as well as optimising factory layout and machinery utilisation through collaborative projects.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and planning teams to guarantee timely availability of JIGs and moulds required for seamless manufacturing operations.
- Monitor and enhance overall process efficiency by identifying areas for capital expenditure review and implementing sustainable improvements that benefit both workflow and output quality.
- Ensure technical compliance by analysing product tech packs and resolving any issues encountered on the production floor with empathy and attention to detail.
- Promote lean manufacturing concepts within your team by encouraging knowledge sharing and supporting the adoption of best practices across all stages of production.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation related to process management, balancing production lines, workstation arrangements, finishing techniques, and packing procedures.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere where every team member feels valued for their contributions towards achieving collective goals.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial management or a related field provides you with the foundational knowledge necessary for this role.
- At least 10 years’ experience as an industrial engineer ensures you bring deep expertise in process optimisation within manufacturing environments.
- A minimum of 5 years in a leadership position demonstrates your ability to guide teams with empathy and foster collaborative success.
- Proficiency in English at an intermediate level enables effective communication across diverse teams.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office are essential for managing documentation; familiarity with AutoCAD or Inventor is considered an advantage for technical tasks.
- Comprehensive understanding of furniture manufacturing processes—from white wood preparation through finishing to packing—enables you to oversee complex workflows confidently.
- Demonstrated experience in workflow management, balancing production lines, arranging workstations, and maintaining efficient operations is highly valued.
- Strong analytical abilities allow you to assess product tech packs accurately while resolving challenges on the shop floor with sensitivity.
