What you'll do:
As the Group Occupational Health and Safety Manager, you will play a central role in shaping the future of workplace wellbeing within a renowned sports footwear manufacturing organisation. Your day-to-day activities will involve setting strategic directions for OHS across multiple countries, ensuring that every facility operates under unified guidelines that reflect both local nuances and international expectations. - Independently establish strategic directions, frameworks, operating guidelines, standards, programmes, and processes for occupational health and safety across the ASEAN region to ensure consistent execution at all facilities.
- Serve as the primary liaison with clients, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders regarding all matters related to health and safety compliance.
- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies tailored for facilities in both Indonesia and Vietnam, ensuring alignment with local regulations as well as international standards.
- Guide and collaborate closely with local Facility OHS Leads and Teams to achieve full compliance with client requirements, local laws, and global best practices.
- Design effective risk mitigation strategies that proactively address potential hazards within manufacturing environments.
- Promote a culture of safety by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to embed health-conscious behaviours throughout all levels of operation.
- Create engaging training programmes for employees and management that communicate best practices in occupational health and safety clearly and effectively.
- Monitor key performance metrics related to safety outcomes; analyse data trends to identify areas for improvement or intervention.
- Utilise storytelling skills to articulate business value-adds of robust OHS practices when communicating with clients or stakeholders.
- Undertake additional OHS-related duties as assigned by the Group Environment, Health & Safety Executive Manager.

Communication is one of your greatest strengths: whether drafting policies in English or engaging stakeholders in Chinese (if applicable), you foster understanding through clarity & empathy. Analytical thinking comes naturally—you use data not just for reporting but as a tool for continuous improvement. - Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related field is required to provide foundational knowledge essential for this role.
- At least 10 years’ experience managing health & safety within FMCG manufacturing environments demonstrates your practical understanding of complex operational settings.
- Proven ability to write fluently in English ensures effective communication across multinational teams; proficiency in spoken Chinese is considered an advantage for stakeholder engagement.
- In-depth familiarity with Vietnamese & Indonesian health & safety regulations enables you to navigate compliance challenges confidently.
- A track record of successfully implementing OHS programmes showcases your capacity for translating policy into practice.
- Strong analytical skills allow you to interpret data accurately so you can inform decision-making processes effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities enable you to engage empathetically with diverse teams while building consensus around shared goals.
