An exciting Production Engineer job has arisen in a leading firm in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.
About this Production Engineer Role:
This role is aimed at overseeing projects that include but are not limited to develop, maintain and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of company's quality assurance processes, procedures, COPQ reduction through sales returns or waste elimination projects, customer satisfaction feedback and statistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in product development activities, execution of tactical and action plans to ensure quality requirement compliance during product development and product/process changes
Activities will vary depending on project size, structure and phase but may include evaluation of design review and design for manufacturability, key measurement evaluation, schedule development, supplier quality evaluation, prototype manufacturing process activities, test procedures, inspection analyses, etc.
Assist company’s vendors in the coordination of quality management system activities to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the system, provide continuous improvement in product supplied to company. Typical activities include
Analysis of manufacturing processes, safety and/or risk avoidance opportunities, monitoring and reviewing production problems and implement solutions
Review and provide recommendation of vendor factory continuous improvement projects, measurement system, data collection, process capability, quality system documentation and execution. The incumbent will work closely with vendor’s factory such as process control, manufacturing engineering, safety and environmental to help with developing and implementing solutions consistent with company’s QA requirements.
Sales return reduction and waste elimination projects
In order to succeed in this role, similar experience working for sourcing/trading office.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or other technical sciences is required
Two to five years working experience in the field of quality assurance, managing vendor quality assurance activities in well-managed buying offices or factories
Collaboration and project management skills to ensure successful implementation of quality management system, continuous improvement and sales return reduction project, etc.
Familiar with product development with solid experience on product design quality assurance, design for manufacturing, key product/process characteristics
Strong communication skills to direct vendor quality improvement effort, report project progress, escalate issue and seek support, as required
Strong knowledge and experience of implementing ISO9001 and TS16949
Strong understanding and demonstrated use of quality tools such as Kaizen, DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing, statistical tools, advanced product quality planning APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA
Skilled knowledge of statistical software (Minitab, etc.)
Effective oral and written English proficiency
