A prestigious MNC in HCMC has an immediate opening for a "Head of Development Lab" for automotive lubricants. Our client is a global producer of lubricating oil used in industrial and automotive products, based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
About the Head of Development Lab Role:
In this Head of Development Lab - Automotive job, you will lead the operation of the lab and R&D of Automotive products, ensuring they meet all required standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead automotive lubricant formulation projects - including formulations of car oil and motorcycle oil
- Validate the requirements from clients regarding formulation of products
- Manage automotive development team
- Engage in fundamental research activities, development from concept to commercialisation, optimising existing technologies to meet specific industry, OEM or customer requirements
- Evaluate raw material function and performance for industrial lubricant formulations. Collaborate with suppliers and OEMs to deliver innovative technologies. Gain OEM approvals and demonstrate product advantage. Work with raw material suppliers to evaluate base oil and additive functions and performance
- Design and execution of test programs to establish product performance against industry and OEM specification.
- Develop and maintain product development processes
- Work with cross-functional teams to support company products and brand strategy
- Provide expert technical support to quality-control, production, sales, marketing teams and customers
- Develop and provide training to chemists and lab technicians, product support training to internal and external customers
To succeed in this role, you must have good communication skills in English.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor/Master/PhD's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineer, or related disciplines
- At least seven years of research experience in the petroleum industry which includes formulary, base oil and additive technical knowledge pertaining to industrial lubricants
- Established laboratory safety, technical competency with strong lubricant principles background
- Effective project management skills, ability to work on multiple projects, other technical task simultaneously in a timely manner. Strong attention to details, problem solving, organisational, oral presentation and writing skills.
