Our client, a leading electrical company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for their Switch Gear
Design department. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment,

What you'll do:

As an Assistant Manager in Switch Gear Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our
client's product line. Your primary responsibility will be designing and developing Switch Gear products that
not only meet technical standards but also cater to customer requirements. You will manage the entire
lifecycle of the product development project while collaborating with various teams. Your innovative ideas
for cost reduction will directly impact the efficiency of product designs and manufacturing processes. With
your proficiency in CAD software, you will perform 2D drawing and 3D modelling along with structural
analysis of product components. Your keen eye for material selection will ensure cost-effectiveness without
compromising on durability or compliance with industry standards. Leading product evaluations and testing
will fall under your purview to guarantee that products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards.
A significant part of your role will involve working closely with customers to understand their needs,
negotiate specifications, and aligning product designs accordingly. Additionally, you will assist in developing
technical documentation and product specifications for various stakeholders.

• Design and develop Switch Gear products from concept to final product, ensuring they meet both
technical and customer requirements.
• Manage the product development project schedule, ensuring all milestones are met on time and
within budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth development and timely completion of
products.
• Generate cost reduction ideas and actively contribute to promoting themes that lead to more
efficient product designs and manufacturing processes.
• Perform 2D drawing and 3D modeling using CAD software, as well as structural analysis of product
components.
• Select and specify materials for product design, ensuring they are cost-effective, durable, and
compliant with industry standards.
• Lead product evaluations and testing to ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory
standards.
• Work closely with customers to understand their product needs, negotiate specifications, and align
product designs to meet those requirements.
• Assist in developing technical documentation and product specifications for internal and external
stakeholders.

What you bring:

As the ideal candidate for the Assistant Manager (Switch Gear Design) role, you bring a wealth of
experience in Switch Gear product development. Your deep understanding of materials, processing, and
mold design will be instrumental in creating high-quality products. You possess a strong understanding of
the operating mechanisms of Switch Gear products. Your proficiency in 2D drawing and 3D modelling using

Your past roles have honed your skills in product evaluation, testing, and validation. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively present technical concepts to team members and customers alike. You are comfortable communicating in English at a business level, both written and spoken. Knowledge of electrical contacts and terminals would be an added advantage. Your experience in material selection, setting material specifications, and working closely with customers to meet their product requirements will be highly valued. Lastly, your experience in implementing cost reduction strategies and promoting innovative ideas in product design will be crucial for this role.

• 5+ years of experience in Switch Gear product development.
• In-depth knowledge of materials (metal and plastic), processing, and mold design.
• Strong understanding of the operating mechanisms of Switch Gear products.
• Proficiency in 2D drawing and 3D modeling (SolidWorks or similar).
• Experience with structural analysis and testing of product components.
• Experience in product evaluation, testing, and validation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to team members and customers.
• Business-level proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of electrical contacts and terminals and their development is an advantage.
• Experience in material selection, material specification setting, and collaborating with customers to meet their product requirements.
• Experience in cost reduction strategies and promoting innovative ideas in product design.
