About the Head of Training & Development Position Role:

You will be a pivotal figure in shaping the skills, capabilities, and professional development of our manufacturing workforce. This leadership role encompasses the development, execution, and assessment of both technical and non-technical training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive training and development strategy that encompasses both technical and non-technical training, aligning with the goals of the manufacturing department and the broader organisation
• Oversee the design and delivery of technical training programs, including skill training for new employees, up skilling existing staff, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with HR and People Development to design and implement comprehensive non-technical training programs, including soft skills, leadership development, employee engagement, and the identification and support of individuals recognised as "key talent" within the organisation. Implement succession planning strategies to ensure these key talents receive the necessary training and development experiences to prepare them for future career moves within the company
• Lead and manage a team of trainers responsible for technical and non-technical training. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to trainers to ensure consistent and effective program delivery
• Implement "train the trainer" programs to equip trainers with the skills needed to effectively transfer knowledge to employees. Foster a culture of continuous learning among trainers
• Collaborate closely with production facilitators to ensure that all technicians adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Regularly review and update SOPs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics. Analyse the success of training initiatives and make necessary improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, HR, and management, to identify training needs and align training programs with business goals
• Manage the training budget, allocating resources effectively to deliver high-quality training initiatives
• Provide regular reports and updates on training progress, outcomes, and challenges to key stakeholders

To succeed in this role, you must have good communication skills in English.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in technical training and employee development, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of production processes and Standard Operating Procedures
• Prior experience in leading and managing a team of trainers or training professionals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate trainees
• Analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and adapt programs accordingly
• Good English language communication
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and production methods
• Proficiency in training program design and development
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) is a plus
