Government Affairs Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Government Affairs Manager to represent a leading multinational organisation in Vietnam’s public policy landscape. Based in Long An (20km away from HCMC center), this role offers the chance to shape government engagement strategy, build strong relationships with key authorities, and ensure compliance with evolving local and global regulations.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute government engagement strategies in alignment with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Advise senior management on regulatory developments and compliance risks affecting operations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with central and local government authorities, as well as industry bodies such as AmCham and EuroCham.

  • Monitor legislative and policy developments, assessing their impact on business and identifying opportunities.

  • Represent the company at government meetings, hearings, and industry forums.

  • Identify and support applications for incentives, subsidies, and tax-related benefits.

  • Draft policy position papers, submissions, and communications for policymakers.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent messaging and alignment on government affairs matters.

What you bring

  • 8+ years’ experience in multinational environments in Vietnam, including at least 3 years in Government or Public Affairs roles. Preferred industries: Manufacturing, Chemicals, Garments & Textiles, FMCG.

  • Proven experience in government advocacy, policy engagement, and regulatory analysis.

  • Strong understanding of Vietnam’s regulatory landscape, public policy processes, and relevant industry dynamics.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior officials and internal leaders.

  • High ethical standards and the ability to operate effectively in matrix organisations.

  • Fluency in English; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
