Head of Legal
Location: Hanoi preferred – HCM possible
Fully on-site position
Schedule: Monday to Friday
+ Working Saturday morning from December to April (included) each year
What is the company doing
A local leading company in Vietnam providing digital transformation solutions SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) with around 60 products and applications for 350,000 customers who are state agencies, businesses, business households and 3.5 million individual customers in Vietnam and 22 countries around the world.
What you will have to do
- Ensuring Legal and Compliance:
- Providing legal advice to the BOD on legal matters related to business activities, as well as important projects and transactions.
- Supervise compliance with legal regulations in the Company's activities, including labor laws, intellectual property, anti-corruption, fire prevention and other related legal areas.
- Organize periodic internal audits to assess and ensure compliance with the law, and develop and implement improvement plans as necessary.
- Intellectual Property Management:
- Organize the registration, monitoring, renewal and protection of the company's intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyrights, patents, trademarks and trade secrets.
- Advising and implementing legal measures measures to prevent infringement of the Company's intellectual property rights.
- Work with lawyers and legal counsel to resolve intellectual property disputes, protect the rights and interests of the company.
- Organize other training sessions to raise awareness of the law for officials and employees at all levels.
- Develop and update contract templates, provide user manuals and adjust to ensure efficiency and suitability for the business and legal environment from time to time
- Communicate with State Agencies, coordinate with relevant departments to prepare and respond to requests, questions or complaints from government agencies.
- Monitoring and analyzing legal trends and draft new legal documents to assess the impact on the company's operations.
- Legal Handling and Dispute Resolution including negotiations, mediation, arbitration or court proceedings, monitoring and updating cases, assessing legal risks, and proposing resolution strategies.
- Other tasks at the request of the BOD
What you need to bring
- Bachelor of Law, Lawyer Practising Certificate is a plus
- At least 5 years of experience in Law for Software, IT Services, Tech, Banking or E-commerce
- Previous experience working on public tenders, legal and compliance daily activities, IP, disputes, etc
- Proficiency in English and Vietnamese
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Communication, presentation and negotiation skills with local or international stakeholders
