HCMC - International Legal Advisor - Construction

Introduction

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support construction and real estate development projects in overseas and in Vietnam. The role requires strong expertise in construction contracts, international project support, and close coordination with internal stakeholders, local authorities and external law firms. This position is ideal for a commercially minded legal professional who can operate independently in a fast-paced project environment.

What you will do:

• Draft, review, and negotiate construction and commercial contracts, including EPC, design-build, subcontracting agreements and FIDIC-based contracts.

• Provide legal support for international and cross-border construction projects, negotiating with opposite counsels in various jurisdictions.

• Support the General Counsel in Europe HQ on assigned contracts.

• Advise on Vietnamese legal and regulatory matters relating to construction, licensing, permits, and project implementation.

• Support engagement with local authorities to facilitate approvals and compliance where necessary.

• Coordinate and manage local and international law firms.

• Identify and manage legal and contractual risks across projects and operations.

• Support dispute prevention, claims management, and coordination with external counsel.

• Perform other legal and corporate tasks as assigned.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or real estate development.

• Hands-on experience with construction contracts, including FIDIC or equivalent international standards.

• Experience advising on international or multi-jurisdictional projects.

• Good understanding of Vietnamese construction and regulatory frameworks.

• Experience working with and managing external law firms.

• Fluent English mandatory and native Vietnamese
