Public Affairs Consultant (Senior)

An exciting job opportunity of a (Senior) Public Affairs Consultant for an agency has arisen in Ho Chi Minh City.

About the (Senior) Public Affairs Consultant Role:

In this role you will help to establish a public affairs practice within the agency with the goal of serving leading brands in support of their public policy and communications requirements. You will also help to establish a team of public affairs experts who can advise a broad range of clients in technology and digital finance on how to navigate a variety of public policy and communications challenges.

We help our clients create sustainable relationships with policy makers, interest groups, industry and the media.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build the business: seek out new business leads and work alongside other senior members of the team on business development activities.
• Deliver to clients: provide strategic advice to clients, manage accounts on a day-to-day basis and develop excellent relationships with client groups. Own client relationships and creatively prepare and deliver client campaigns.
• Team involvement: project line management for the team working on your clients and knowledge sharing and mentoring junior team members.
• Networking: proactively network with Vietnam contacts and stakeholders as well as potential clients.

To succeed in the role, you should have a strong understanding about public affairs and government affairs.

Key Requirements:

• Strong academic background
• At least three to five years’ experience in a consultancy, in-house, trade body, public institution or advising clients on policy and communications issues
• Proven skills in public affairs, advocacy, issues and reputation management in the technology and digital finance sectors
• Excellent understanding and experience of working with policymakers and stakeholders in Southeast Asia to develop strategic objectives, and strong knowledge of the technology and digital sector regulation and policy discussions
• Strong English speaking capability and Vietnamese
• General understanding of agency protocols, procedures, and processes
