About the Technical Sales Manager Role:
This role is to provide local leadership, develop and drive the local product line and support the product portfolio strategies for the factory with the primary objective to achieve profitable growth and long-term competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the exchange of information between sales and manufacturing, covering commercial and technical aspects like product positioning, pricing, lead times, new product developments, and local competitor activities
Acting as the primary intermediary between customers, market segment needs, and factory personnel to ensure alignment
Collaborating closely with the Operations team to smoothly transition new projects through Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Overseeing the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process and ensuring timely submission of offers to customers.
Coordinating and gathering data from various departments to calculate product costs
Formulating and implementing pricing strategies for all products
Creating business cases that encompass market potential, pricing, profitability, and payback analysis for new product opportunities
Conducting technical presentations, providing support, and assisting with problem-solving at customer and sales locations across the Asia-Pacific region as required
Collaborating with the Product Line Director to evaluate, update, and execute the product line strategy
Identifying areas for improvement within the local product line to achieve cost savings, enhance manufacturing efficiency, and streamline operations
Establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Quoted Projects, Response Time, and tracking Won and Lost Business
To succeed in this role, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team, well-manage subordinates within internal matrix.
Key Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; material science or business
A minimum three years of experience related to new product introduction and/or new business development.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Commercial experience is desirable, indicating an understanding of the business aspects of product development.
Experience in creating and implementing annual business plans
A track record of high performance in both technical product and business development roles
Proven experience in change management, highlighting the ability to adapt to evolving situations
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, which are vital in addressing challenges and finding solutions
