As the Regional Business Development Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial strategy, building relationships with key partners, and preparing the groundwork for establishing a local presence. Key Responsibilities Market Expansion & Strategy * Develop and execute strategies to expand market presence across Southeast Asia. * Identify high-potential markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities. * Build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as consultants, contractors, distributors, and project decision-makers. * Lead pricing strategies, bid participation, and commercial negotiations to achieve revenue targets. Partnership Development * Identify and onboard distribution partners and other key collaborators in target markets. * Provide training and support to partners to ensure alignment with business goals. * Set performance metrics for partners related to revenue growth and market development. Leadership & Team Building * Over time, recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing local team to support business objectives. * Establish operational frameworks, reporting structures, and performance KPIs. * Represent the company at industry events and with major customers or stakeholders. Strategic & Operational Readiness * Assess legal, financial, and operational requirements for establishing a local branch office. * Prepare business cases and proposals for senior management approval. * Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc., to ensure seamless execution of regional plans.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for building businesses from the ground up. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience: 12+ years of experience in business development or sales within technical or project-based industries (e.g., engineering solutions, construction-related products). Experience working with consultants or contractors is highly desirable.
- Leadership Potential: A demonstrated ability to lead teams or manage operations is essential for future leadership opportunities within the organization.
- Market Knowledge: Familiarity with Southeast Asian markets is preferred; existing networks with regional stakeholders are a plus.
- Education: A degree in engineering or business is preferred; an MBA or advanced degree is an advantage but not required.
- Skills: Strong strategic planning abilities, excellent communication skills, negotiation expertise, and financial acumen.
