A leading international chemical business is seeking a high-calibre General Manager, Sales in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam to support a middle, complex business unit nationwide.
About the General Manager, Sales Role:
In this role you will be responsible for actively coordinating with each function to ensure all functions in Vietnam are aligned at all times. Furthermore, close cooperation with other business units (at regional and group level), and external parties including customers, suppliers and authorities is expected.
- Deliver business plans for relevant business segments through clear leadership, target-setting, follow-up and establishment of a performance culture in the business unit. Proactively expand customer base and increase market share
- Responsible for contribution margin as well as sales expenses across the country, including annual and continued sales budgeting & reporting
- Day-to-day management of the sales and sales back office organisation, selection of key personnel, including team and individual skill assessment, and career development
- Manage commercial risk by handling exposure to terms, product specification, long term commitments, payment ability, etc.
- Ensure all activities are in line and comply with corporate governance, operational and compliance policies and procedures as well as country specific law
- Promote a collaborative culture between markets and functions to maximise value
- Facilitate and contribute to global key account initiatives as lead by the group
- Optimise structures and professionalise the sales and customer service organisation
To succeed in the General Manager, Sales job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with senior management teams, across borders and internal matrix.
- Bachelor in science/engineering and/or master degree in business/marketing
- More than ten years' management experience in coating segments
- Local Vietnamese with strong chemical background
- Good written/oral English with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strategic, dynamic with strong leadership
- Coaching of sales force. Market knowledge
- Customer understanding
- Various years of experience in sales management
