An exciting Modern Trade Director job has become available at one of the multinational FMCG firms, based in HCMC. Reporting directly to Country Manager, this is the role for the person who is a leader in their field.
About the Modern Trade Director Role:
In this business critical role you will be responsible for defining the broad business sections, delivering the highest quality service alongside.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive modern trade sales strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. This includes identifying market opportunities, assessing competition, and setting clear goals to achieve sustainable growth
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of modern trade sales professionals, providing them with the guidance and tools they need to excel. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. Customer
Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade customers, including retail chains, supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores. Negotiate and manage contracts, promotions, and other collaborative initiatives
Sales Performance Monitoring: Monitor sales performance, analyse market trends, and leverage data-driven insights to make informed decisions. Implement corrective actions and adjustments to sales strategies as needed to achieve targets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies. Provide input into product development, pricing, and promotional activities
Market Expansion: Identify and explore new opportunities for market expansion, geographic growth, and channel diversification within the modern trade sector. Drive the penetration of existing and new products into modern trade channels
Budget Management: Develop and manage the modern trade sales budget, allocating resources effectively to maximise return on investment and achieve desired outcomes
Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences in the modern trade sector. Use this knowledge to proactively adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge
Reporting: Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on sales performance, market trends, and other relevant KPIs for senior management. Present insights, strategies, and results in a clear and concise manner
To succeed in this role, you must have good communication skills in English.
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in modern trade sales within the FMCG industry, with a proven track record of delivering results and driving growth
Strong understanding of modern trade dynamics, channel strategies, and customer relationship management.
Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify opportunities, and develop effective sales strategies.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Proficiency in using sales analytics tools and Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness to travel as required.
