An exciting Senior Sourcing Merchandiser (Fabric-Knit) job has arisen in a leading international sourcing firm in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.
About this Senior Sourcing Merchandiser (Fabric-Knit) Role:
In this position, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing strategies for material management and sourcing knitted fabrics. Your responsibilities will encompass gathering market intelligence data and crafting presentations on market trends and pricing. You'll serve as an expert resource for various departments in relation to both current and future mill partnerships. To excel in this role, a robust background in fabric sourcing is essential, along with a proven track record of establishing and nurturing relationships with regional mills.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently oversee the fabric development process (P2M) to meet design aesthetics and maintain commercially acceptable quality standards. This includes handling development sampling, initial cost assessment, negotiations, production coordination, and capacity planning
Cultivate strong relationships with mills, facilitating vendor allocation and aggregated costing aligned with cost targets to gain a competitive edge
Collaborate closely with mills to foster innovation and ensure superior quality, proactively addressing any fabric/product or quality-related issues
Onboard new mills and provide training to existing mill partners while supporting the evaluation process
Continuously seek opportunities for enhancing fabric development, process management, and overall sourcing methodologies
Enhance communication skills to facilitate the exchange of complex information
Effectively manage projects and program execution within your area of expertise, ensuring the quality of work delivered
To succeed in this role, you must have good communication skills in English.
Key Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of fabric sourcing, with a minimum of eight years of experience in fabric development (knits), ideally within a large-scale buying office or mill environment
Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to execute fabric sourcing strategies effectively
Strong collaboration skills, with a proven track record of effective communication and teamwork
An adaptable mindset, open to experimentation, and capable of presenting multiple options
Problem-solving abilities, demonstrated by your capacity to resolve challenges or escalate them appropriately
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors
Proficiency in both English and Vietnamese languages
