About the Asia Procurement Manager Role:

The Asia Project Procurement Manager is responsible for managing Asian team consisting of 5-10 Project Procurement Engineers and accountable for project procurement for transferred, full scale & fast lane projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end responsible for releasing the supply chain in projects from M0 till M3
• Direct team to source and release parts in Engineering/Development projects, in agreement with operational procurement & purchasing
• Lead the team to partnership with R&D/PE and suppliers to secure optimised Design For Manufacturing (DFM), and a robust supplier chain during mass production phase with competitive cost efficiency
• Consult R&D/PE to maximise platform design of BOM parts, in terms of RM, process and etc., to improve Time to Market and stable supply in mass production
• Directly communicate and manage suppliers for technical discussion, so as to be more efficient and effective during project phase project procurement for saving projects
• Coordinate M0 activities with internal stakeholders for 2nd source projects (collect input, request technical/commercial evaluation from others dept., provide proposal for prioritised projects to run)
• Provide guidance and support PP team to interact with R&D team with alternative technologies for possible design optimisation, aiming at lowest cost of total ownership resource optimisation & interaction Vietnam & Philippines
• Maintain, observe & optimise resource allocation for projects run in Vietnam and other locations in Asia
• Organise smooth transfer and interaction on project run among Asia locations or between Netherlands and Asia
• Directly involve and/or manage the team to organise material flow for project till M3
• Manage conflicts between departments and with internal customers in project phase, and convince them to accept new approach

To succeed in this role, you must have good communication skills in English.

Key Requirements:

• University (Electronics or mechanical, materials engineering; preferred: Higher technical education (M.Sc.)
• Advanced in Microsoft Office
• Required: English at Pre-Advanced or IELTS at 6+ level or equal, preferred: IELTS 7+ level or equal
• At least five yrs in engineering position; preferred: Supervisory position
