Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commodity Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, driving technical excellence and developing strategies that meet the business needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and measurement of a Global Business plan that fully meets the needs of various business sectors. This includes commodity strategies, supply base development, global infrastructure, and price management. The role requires a strong leader with excellent interpersonal skills, who can influence and assist in recruitment, employee development, performance management, and communication.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Commodity Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client's business. You will be entrusted with leading a team of Commodity Managers towards achieving operational excellence. Your responsibilities will extend from recruitment to performance management, ensuring your team delivers exceptional service to both internal and external customers. You will also be instrumental in defining, developing, and implementing strategies that align with the corporate direction. Your innovative approach will be key in identifying opportunities for cost reduction through process optimisation. Your expertise in supply chain management will be crucial in managing commodities effectively.

  • Influence and assist with the recruitment, interview and hire Commodity Managers
  • Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis
  • Coach and mentor Commodity Managers to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer
  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results
  • Provide weekly communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the team
  • Define, develop and implement a strategy which contributes to the corporate strategic direction
  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
  • Demonstrate expertise in assigned commodities and fully competent in all aspects of supply chain management including commodities not directly assigned

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Commodity Manager role will bring a wealth of experience in materials management, specifically with knowledge of metal and plastic fabrication at the manufacturing level. You will have a proven track record in managing level 2 sub-assemblies, power, interconnect, backplanes etc., and level 3 system design and integration. Your strong leadership skills will enable you to influence others and drive your team towards achieving operational excellence. Your excellent interpersonal skills will allow you to adapt your communication style to suit different individuals and situations. Your innovative approach to cost reduction through process optimisation will be highly valued.

  • Proven experience in materials management with working knowledge of metal and plastic fabrication at the manufacturing level
  • Experience in level 2 sub-assemblies, power , interconnect, backplanes etc., and level 3 system design and integration
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to adapt communication style accordingly
