Senior Manager Development, Fabric Apparel (Open for expat)

A global sportswear company is hiring a Fabric Development Senior Manager to lead fabric innovation and Tier 2 supplier management in Vietnam. This strategic role focuses on driving sustainable, high-performance materials across apparel collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of sustainable, high-performance fabrics that meet global standards.
• Manage and mentor a team of material developers, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Oversee Tier 2 supplier relationships, ensuring quality, innovation, and efficiency.
• Drive cost optimization and process improvements to enhance speed and product value.
• Collaborate with design, R&D, sourcing, and technical teams to integrate materials into new products.
• Maintain a strategic supplier matrix to support sourcing decisions and innovation.
• Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a global, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Textiles, Materials Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in fabric development, sourcing, and technical innovation.
• Proven leadership in multicultural settings with a focus on team development.
• Strong expertise in woven and knit fabrics, testing protocols, and costing.
• Familiarity with Vietnam’s supplier landscape and global textile trends.
• Fluent in English; Vietnamese is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PLM systems.
• Able to work independently across time zones and manage shifting priorities.
• Strategic thinker with attention to detail and sustainability experience.
