  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities within a supportive environment that values knowledge sharing, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Work for an organisation committed to ethical sourcing, sustainability initiatives, and nurturing talent through comprehensive training programmes.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Merchandiser, you will take ownership of end-to-end merchandising processes within the Clothing & Home Sourcing Office. Your day-to-day activities will involve close coordination with suppliers across the region as well as internal stakeholders in the UK. You will be responsible for managing critical paths, ensuring timely approvals of samples, monitoring production progress, resolving payment queries, and supporting cost optimisation efforts. Your ability to build strong relationships with both factories and cross-functional teams will be essential as you work towards achieving margin improvements while upholding rigorous quality standards. By leveraging your deep industry knowledge, you will provide valuable market intelligence to inform buying decisions, source new suppliers when needed, and contribute actively to the success of each product launch. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and collaborative approach will ensure that all projects run smoothly from concept through to delivery.

  • Agree target dates with suppliers and UK departments to ensure seamless tracking of new product launches and manage all associated timelines.
  • Update and oversee critical path tasks for the assigned region, ensuring all exit dates are clearly communicated and adhered to.
  • Provide proactive support to UK Buying and Merchandising Departments by understanding their sourcing requirements and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Assist the Business Area Manager or Merchandising Manager in detailed costing exercises aimed at maximising margin potential within the region.
  • Manage factory capacity planning to guarantee that orders are processed efficiently and production schedules remain on track.
  • Monitor production status meticulously to confirm that every task is completed ahead of deadlines, minimising any risk of delay.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Costing, Technical, and Material teams to ensure sample approvals and bulk material readiness occur without bottlenecks.
  • Resolve payment issues post-shipment by liaising with invoice teams and suppliers to ensure smooth financial transactions.
  • Organise supplier visits for Buying Departments, providing comprehensive follow-up support and sharing valuable market insights gathered from multiple channels.
  • Source and evaluate new suppliers for both current lines and emerging product groups while maintaining high standards of compliance and quality.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Merchandiser in this role, your background should reflect significant experience within textile merchandising or related fields—ideally including exposure to UK or European markets. Your proven track record in managing complex production cycles equips you with the insight needed for effective capacity planning. You possess advanced analytical skills that support robust costing exercises while your negotiation style is considerate yet effective. Your interpersonal strengths shine through when working alongside diverse teams such as Product Development, Technical, Materials Management, and Buying Departments. A proactive mindset ensures you stay ahead of potential issues while your fluency in English facilitates clear communication across borders. Familiarity with key software tools like MS Office further enhances your ability to deliver accurate reports and manage data-driven tasks efficiently. Above all else, your commitment to collaboration ensures that every project benefits from shared knowledge, mutual respect, and collective achievement.

  • A degree in Textile or a related discipline provides you with a solid foundation for understanding complex merchandising requirements.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience—preferably gained within the UK or European markets—ensures you bring proven expertise to this senior role.
  • Demonstrated experience in production environments gives you an advantage when managing factory capacity planning and production schedules.
  • A thorough understanding of product costing analysis enables you to contribute effectively during margin improvement exercises.
  • Excellent negotiation skills allow you to secure favourable terms with suppliers while maintaining positive relationships built on trust.
  • Your problem-solving abilities help you navigate challenges quickly while keeping projects on track for successful completion.
  • Outstanding communication skills enable you to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams both locally and internationally.
  • Proactive attitude combined with energy ensures you anticipate needs before they arise while remaining dependable under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is essential for building strong inter-personal connections across departments.
