Our client is seeking a Vice Manager of Freight Operations to guide the development of their operations function across Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Brokerage and Contract Logistics.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex customer accounts, coordinate logistical transactions and oversee financial performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team, developing shipment plans and securing new business opportunities.

What you'll do:

As the Vice Manager of Freight Operations, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the development of the operations function for Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Brokerage and Contract Logistics. You will be tasked with managing complex customer accounts and coordinating logistical transactions. Your role will also involve overseeing financial performance, supporting business development efforts and promoting vendor relations. Additionally, you will supervise and develop others within your team.

  • Monitor daily operations to ensure performance indices are met
  • Distribute daily assignments based on work plan priorities
  • Evaluate quality goals to identify process improvements needed
  • Review operational benchmarking to support continuous process improvement
  • Participate in monitoring and overseeing financial performance
  • Support Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) Business Development
  • Promote Vendor Relations
  • Supervise and Develop Others

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Vice Manager of Freight Operations role will bring a wealth of experience in freight operations, along with a degree in supply chain or logistics or any equivalent. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that includes restructuring and strategic planning. Your ability to independently seek out solutions and implement them for company growth will be crucial. Experience managing a team under similar functions is essential, as is familiarity with consolidation and buying/selling of shipment. Basic conversational English skills are required, along with proficient computer literacy.

  • Degree in Supply chain or logistics or any equivalent
  • 5 to 8 years experience in freight operations
  • Ability to independently seek out solutions and implementations for company growth
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment which includes restructuring and strategic planning
  • Experience managing a team of people under similar function
  • Familiarity with consolidation and buying/selling of shipment
  • Basic conversational English skills
  • Proficient computer literacy (eg. Microsoft Office)
