A leading global healthcare organisation is seeking a Government and Market Access Manager to join their team in Hanoi.

This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape market access strategies, foster meaningful relationships with key government stakeholders, and drive the successful introduction of innovative products into Vietnam’s healthcare landscape. You will be at the forefront of engaging with ministries, reimbursement authorities, and policy influencers, ensuring that the company’s portfolio achieves optimal visibility and accessibility. With flexible working opportunities and a supportive leadership structure, this position provides an exceptional platform for your professional growth within a collaborative and knowledgeable environment.

  • Play a central role in shaping healthcare access by collaborating closely with government bodies, reimbursement authorities, and industry leaders to ensure broad product availability.
  • Benefit from flexible working opportunities and a supportive leadership team committed to your ongoing development and success within a global network.
  • Drive impactful projects that enhance patient outcomes while building your reputation as a trusted partner among key decision-makers in Vietnam’s healthcare sector.

What you'll do:

As Government and Market Access Manager, you will play an instrumental role in advancing the organisation’s presence within Vietnam’s healthcare system. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing robust strategies for product reimbursement and market entry while nurturing influential relationships with government officials. You will act as a bridge between internal teams—such as marketing, medical affairs, sales—and external stakeholders including ministries and reimbursement authorities. By monitoring evolving health policies and regulatory landscapes, you will ensure that all business activities remain compliant while proactively identifying opportunities for growth. Your expertise in preparing market research briefs and managing risk will underpin successful launches of new therapies or devices. Through effective communication of value propositions tailored to local needs, you will help secure broad access for life-changing products while upholding ethical standards.

  • Develop comprehensive market access plans for the organisation’s portfolio, focusing on improving reimbursement at all levels and enlisting new products or therapies into Ministry of Health (MOH), Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV), and Vietnam Social Security (VSS) lists as well as treatment guidelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across MOH, DAV, VSS, and other relevant authorities to enhance corporate reputation and facilitate market entry.
  • Monitor health policies, regulations, compliance requirements, and media coverage relevant to the business, providing timely internal communication to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and medical teams to design annual brand plans, launch strategies for new products, and channel expansion initiatives that align with organisational objectives.
  • Manage pricing submissions for the product portfolio at the MOH level, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards and supports favourable reimbursement outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment procurement projects at both MOH and Service of Health (SOH) levels, supporting business growth through strategic partnerships.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and other departments to manage change processes such as company name updates or distributor transitions required by regulatory bodies.
  • Develop risk management strategies addressing distributor oversight, media crisis scenarios related to company activities or products, and broader reputational considerations.
  • Prepare clear and actionable market research briefs that guide evidence-based decision-making across the organisation.
  • Align messaging with global value dossiers while adapting communications to address country-specific needs in collaboration with Medical Advisers.

What you bring:

Your proven track record in government affairs or market access roles within the pharmaceutical or medical device sectors will be invaluable in this position. You bring not only technical expertise but also interpersonal sensitivity that allows you to build trust-based relationships with both internal teams and external partners. Your understanding of Vietnam’s health economy structures ensures that you can effectively advocate for product inclusion on key lists while navigating complex regulatory environments. As someone who thrives in collaborative settings, your ability to communicate clearly across functions supports seamless execution of strategic initiatives. Your willingness to adapt your schedule demonstrates commitment to achieving shared goals even when faced with shifting priorities. Above all, your dedication to ethical conduct sets you apart as a dependable ambassador for the organisation’s values.

  • Hold a degree in a medical or healthcare-related field which equips you with essential knowledge of clinical environments and regulatory frameworks.
  • Bring at least five years’ experience at managerial level within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry where you have demonstrated responsibility for market access or government affairs initiatives.
  • Possess established relationships with key stakeholders at MOH, VSS, DAV or similar authorities which enable you to navigate complex approval processes efficiently.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—in English as well as Vietnamese; your negotiation abilities are highly regarded by peers.
  • Showcase strong project management capabilities that allow you to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams towards shared objectives under tight deadlines.
  • Understand health economy structures in Vietnam along with decision-making processes affecting funding flows and reimbursement pathways.
  • Display a proactive attitude combined with strategic thinking that enables you to anticipate challenges before they arise.
  • Exhibit team-oriented values by fostering collaboration across departments while supporting colleagues’ professional development.
  • Be willing to travel domestically as required by stakeholder engagements or project demands; flexibility regarding work hours is essential for success in this role.
