About the Senior Business Analyst Role:

This Senior Business Analyst role is critical in driving effective communication, requirements understanding, and process improvement to support the successful delivery of projects in our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stakeholder Engagement: Identifying and managing stakeholders, comprehending their interests, and ensuring clear comprehension among affected stakeholders regarding new features or solution changes
• Requirements Gathering: Collecting, analysing, and documenting comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring a shared understanding among all stakeholders and project team members
• Functional Specifications: Gathering, analysing, and documenting functional specifications, encompassing use cases, user interface designs, and data attributes when necessary
• Process Optimisation: Defining, analysing, and documenting current and future state business processes using industry standards like BPMN. Identifying opportunities for process efficiency and improvements and integrating them into the functional solution design to align with business objectives
• Requirements Traceability: Maintaining requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project goals
• Workshops and Facilitation: Conducting workshops with both business and technical stakeholders and facilitating walkthroughs with project team members
• Support for Project Teams: Providing support to architecture, development, and testing teams in requirements clarification throughout the project lifecycle. Assisting the Program/Project Manager in tasks and deliverables related to business analysis, such as analysis estimates, release planning, or iteration planning
• Knowledge Sharing: Staying current with Business Analysis developments and industry trends and actively disseminating knowledge with fellow Business Analysts

To succeed in this role, you must have at least 7 years as a Business Analyst.

Key Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, requirements gathering and analysis, business process development, and use case development
• Consultative and open-minded with highly effective communication, interpersonal, and workshop facilitation skills
• Proven ability to show initiative with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within multifaceted teams
• Compliance Expertise: Demonstrated experience and proficiency in working within the legislative and policy frameworks of education to ensure compliance and effectiveness in meeting statutory reporting requirements and University needs
• Flexibility to adapt quickly to changes and work effectively in ambiguous situations while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and involvement across the entire project lifecycle
• Experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies
• Previous experience working in an ERP application development environment or finance system.
• Candidates with a broader infrastructure background will also be considered for the role
