About the Head of Technology Role:

You will lead and oversee a talented tech team, including software engineers, testers, data scientists, project managers, and IT support. You will own and evolve the technology stacks, which is currently AWS, microservices design, PHP/Node.js for back end and React.js for front end.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulating and executing the organisation's technological vision and strategic plan in alignment with business objectives
• Supervising the technology department, encompassing recruitment, training, mentorship, and performance assessment of staff
• Investigating and assessing novel technologies, products, and services that can enhance the organisation's competitive edge, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
• Establishing and upholding policies and procedures governing technology development, deployment, maintenance, security, and compliance
• Collaborating with fellow executives, stakeholders, customers, vendors, and partners to identify and address business challenges through technology solutions
• Communicating the technology roadmap, current status, potential risks, and opportunities to both internal and external audiences
• Managing the technology budget and expenses
• Leading negotiations with third-party vendors

To succeed in this role, you must have at least seven years in a managerial role (including oversight of other managers).

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of 15 years of software engineering experience, with at least seven years in a managerial role (including oversight of other managers)
• Proficiency in public cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS, and a solid grasp of microservice architecture.
• Strong command of agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, DevOps) and the ability to enhance team productivity
• Sound expertise in system design
• Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in English, and a knack for collaboration
• Competence in business planning for technology investments
• Proficiency in project management
• Exceptional skills in stakeholder management and interpersonal communication
