A leading furniture manufacturer is seeking a HR Director to drive the evolution of their human resources function into a truly people-first, high-performance engine across international operations. This is your opportunity to architect a values-driven workplace experience, shape global talent strategies, and make a lasting impact on both organisational performance and employee satisfaction.

  • Lead the transformation from traditional HR to a people-first, values-driven People and Culture function across multiple countries and cultures, ensuring every employee feels empowered and supported.
  • Champion inclusive practices that prioritise well-being, mental health, work-life balance, and open communication for all employees—from factory floor to senior management.
  • Drive global talent acquisition, leadership development, and cultural integration initiatives that align with business growth objectives while maintaining compliance with local and international standards.

What you'll do:

As Global People and Culture Director, you will play a central role in shaping the future of this international manufacturing leader by driving forward-thinking people strategies that put employees at the core of every initiative. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with executive leadership to embed a values-driven philosophy throughout the organisation; overseeing comprehensive talent management processes; designing impactful learning opportunities; nurturing an environment where well-being is prioritised; guiding complex change initiatives; ensuring legal compliance; leveraging analytics for continuous improvement; and acting as a key partner in aligning people priorities with ambitious business goals. Success in this position means creating an inclusive community where everyone can contribute their best—fuelled by trust, empathy, recognition, and shared purpose.

  • Guide the transition from conventional HR practices to a holistic People and Culture approach by embedding collaborative values throughout all levels of the organisation.
  • Partner closely with senior leaders to ensure people-centric thinking is integrated into every business decision and operational process.
  • Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, onboarding, retention strategies, and succession planning for both white-collar and blue-collar roles across international sites.
  • Design and implement global leadership development programmes that nurture both soft skills and technical expertise among employees at all stages of their careers.
  • Foster an inclusive environment by championing recognition initiatives, wellness programmes, mental health support, and open channels for feedback.
  • Lead change management efforts during periods of organisational growth or restructuring, ensuring smooth cultural integration across domestic and international markets.
  • Align people strategies with broader business goals in manufacturing excellence while supporting expansion into new regions.
  • Ensure all HR operations comply with Vietnamese labour laws as well as international standards through robust policy development and implementation.
  • Develop competitive compensation and benefits frameworks using data-driven insights to enhance employee engagement and performance metrics.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on all matters related to people strategy, workforce planning, and organisational effectiveness.

What you bring:

To excel as Global People and Culture Director you will bring not only deep expertise in human resources but also a genuine passion for building supportive communities where everyone feels valued. Your background should include significant leadership experience within large-scale manufacturing or export-driven organisations—preferably those operating internationally—and a proven record of successfully transforming workplace cultures. You will be adept at navigating complex regulatory environments while remaining sensitive to local customs; skilled at communicating across languages; comfortable managing change during periods of growth or restructuring; analytical enough to use data for decision-making; empathetic when supporting employee well-being; collaborative when partnering with stakeholders; creative when designing learning pathways; dependable when ensuring compliance; knowledgeable about industry trends; enthusiastic about empowering others—and above all committed to making workplaces more inclusive.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, organisational psychology, business administration or related field (an advanced degree is highly regarded).
  • Extensive senior leadership experience within People & Culture or HR functions—ideally gained in manufacturing or export-oriented industries with multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrated success in leading culture transformation projects that have improved employee engagement across diverse environments.
  • Deep understanding of Vietnamese labour market dynamics combined with knowledge of global best practices in workforce management; familiarity with Nordic culture is advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including stakeholder management abilities that foster trust-based relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to design strategic initiatives while also delivering hands-on execution in fast-evolving settings.
  • Outstanding communication skills in both Vietnamese and English—enabling clear dialogue across geographies and cultures.
  • Analytical mindset capable of leveraging data insights for continuous improvement in engagement, performance measurement, compensation benchmarking, and compliance monitoring.
  • Experience developing inclusive policies that promote well-being, mental health support programmes, flexible working opportunities or similar employee-focused benefits.

This organisation stands out as a Nordic-owned enterprise rooted in Vietnam yet operating on a truly global scale—blending Scandinavian values of openness, equality, and sustainability with deep local expertise.
