What you'll do:

As Head of Sales - Freight Forwarding, you will play an integral role in shaping the commercial success of the organisation’s Vietnamese operations. Your daily responsibilities will include guiding your sales team towards achieving ambitious revenue goals while also collaborating with colleagues across borders to unlock new trade lanes. You will act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director—overseeing operational matters when required—and ensure that financial performance is meticulously tracked through regular reporting. By building strong relationships both internally and externally, you will help foster an environment where knowledge sharing thrives. Your ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution will be essential as you work together with your team to deliver exceptional results for clients throughout the region.

  • Oversee all aspects of sales revenue generation and business development activities within Vietnam, ensuring alignment with global objectives and local market needs.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a diverse sales team located across multiple cities to achieve ambitious targets while nurturing their professional growth.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other country teams and agents to drive trade lane development and maximise cross-border business opportunities.
  • Support the Managing Director by supervising day-to-day operations in Vietnam, acting as senior leadership during periods of remote management or absence.
  • Assist in the supervision, control, and management of profit and loss statements including performance reporting and budget planning processes.
  • Prepare monthly business performance reports for senior management review, providing insights into key metrics such as revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, and volume.
  • Contribute to annual budget planning cycles by offering strategic input based on market trends and operational realities.
  • Ensure that all sales-related functions adhere to company policies regarding incentive schemes and commission payouts.
  • Represent the organisation in client meetings and industry events to enhance brand reputation and secure new business partnerships.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team by sharing best practices from international experience.

What you bring:

To excel as Head of Sales - Freight Forwarding, you will bring extensive experience from senior roles within international freight forwarding or supply chain organisations. Your background should demonstrate not only deep technical knowledge but also an ability to connect empathetically with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. You will have honed your skills in managing complex P&L structures while remaining responsive to evolving market demands. Your approachability ensures that your team feels supported at every stage of their development journey. With strong English language abilities and proven success in securing new business across borders, you are adept at navigating multicultural environments.   • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in sales roles within the freight forwarding or supply chain sector, ideally including time spent as a country branch manager or similar senior position.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English with excellent communication skills suitable for engaging international clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of winning new business opportunities within multinational environments, particularly those involving ocean and air freight services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of profit and loss management including performance reporting and budget planning responsibilities.
  • Experience working collaboratively with remote teams across different countries or regions to achieve shared objectives.
  • Ability to supervise day-to-day operations effectively while maintaining focus on long-term strategic goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to nurture talent within your team through supportive leadership practices.
  • Familiarity with preparing detailed monthly business performance reports for executive review purposes.
  • Capacity to represent the organisation professionally at industry events or client meetings both locally and internationally.
