What you'll do:

In the role of Procurement Cycle and Indirect Procurement Manager based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the organisation’s procurement landscape. Your day-to-day activities will involve designing robust sourcing strategies tailored to specific indirect categories while ensuring seamless execution from inception through result measurement. You will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of local purchasing operations—ranging from supplier selection procedures to contract administration—while upholding strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. By leveraging your expertise in market intelligence and analytics, you will provide valuable insights that inform business decisions. Your responsibilities extend beyond transactional tasks; you will also champion productivity improvements by spearheading cost-saving initiatives and process enhancements. As an advocate for innovation within procurement functions, you will work closely with suppliers to identify new opportunities that drive value creation. Collaboration is at the heart of this position: you will engage with cross-functional teams on improvement projects while nurturing productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. Through effective contract management practices—including negotiation and compliance—you will safeguard organisational interests while supporting sustainable growth objectives. Additionally, your proactive approach to managing working capital ensures optimal financial outcomes for the business.

  • Develop comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned indirect categories, starting from initial research and proposal through to implementation and ongoing results tracking.
  • Oversee all local purchasing transactions including supplier selection, compliance with internal policies, purchase order verification, contract management, and resolution of service or delivery issues.
  • Leverage deep market knowledge to conduct spend analysis, benchmark against industry standards, assess business needs, analyse cases for procurement decisions, and ensure adherence to local regulations.
  • Ensure supply security by conducting risk assessments, implementing dual sourcing strategies, contingency planning, establishing service level agreements (SLAs), monitoring quality and safety standards, and managing trading key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead local productivity improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for cost savings or process enhancements and tracking progress against targets.
  • Drive innovation by capturing new ideas from suppliers and contributing to the implementation of local innovation projects that add value to the business.
  • Participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional improvement projects related to responsible categories, fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle including development, negotiation, compliance with local laws and company policies, execution, sign-off processes, and performance tracking.
  • Actively manage working capital within assigned categories by optimising payment terms, phasing payments appropriately, and setting minimum order quantities (MOQ) as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as finance teams and management as well as external suppliers; evaluate supplier performance regularly and support deployment of preferred vendors across regions.

What you bring:

To excel as a Procurement Cycle and Indirect Procurement Manager, you bring a wealth of experience gained from previous roles focused on purchasing within large-scale organisations. Your academic background provides a solid foundation upon which you have built advanced technical competencies spanning spend analysis, contract negotiation, supplier evaluation, risk assessment, and project management. Beyond these hard skills lies your ability to foster collaborative relationships—both internally among cross-functional teams and externally with suppliers—ensuring alignment around shared goals. Your approach is grounded in empathy; you understand the importance of clear communication when navigating complex negotiations or resolving challenges collaboratively. A keen eye for detail allows you not only to comply rigorously with regulatory frameworks but also identify opportunities for process optimisation that benefit all stakeholders involved. Your analytical acumen supports data-driven decision-making while your adaptability ensures success amid evolving market conditions or shifting organisational priorities. Above all else, your commitment to ethical conduct underpins every aspect of your work—reinforcing trust among colleagues while upholding the highest standards expected by the organisation.

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required—preferably in Business Administration, Engineering or Supply Chain Management—with a Master’s degree considered advantageous for this position.
  • You have accumulated at least five years’ experience in purchasing or procurement roles within complex organisations where indirect category management was a core responsibility.
  • Your foundation in procurement includes both technical skills (such as spend analysis or contract negotiation) as well as interpersonal abilities essential for stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation techniques enables you to secure favourable terms while maintaining positive supplier relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
  • You possess strong people management capabilities that allow you to nurture team cohesion within procurement functions as well as influence cross-departmental collaborations effectively.
  • A thorough understanding of material requirements relevant to your assigned categories ensures informed decision-making aligned with business objectives.
  • Your analytical mindset allows you to interpret market trends accurately; this includes benchmarking exercises that support continuous improvement efforts within procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with local regulations governing sourcing activities ensures full compliance throughout all stages of supplier engagement—from selection through contract execution.
  • Experience managing working capital—optimising payment terms or order quantities—is highly desirable as it contributes directly to organisational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills enable you to articulate complex concepts clearly when interacting with colleagues from diverse backgrounds or presenting proposals at senior levels.
