A prestigious international consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant to join their Hanoi branch office. This role offers the opportunity to lead the finance function for a well-established organisation with a global presence.

What you'll do:

As Chief Accountant you will be entrusted with leading the accounting function for the Hanoi branch office. Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the finance and accounting functions of the Hanoi office, ensuring accurate handling of billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany reconciliations and settlements, as well as other financial transactions.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with VAS and applicable regulatory requirements to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Conduct monthly variance analyses and prepare regular management reports that include performance reviews, financial analyses, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and submit all statutory tax filings in compliance with local regulations such as VAT, PIT, CIT, FCT, and other relevant taxes.
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting finance operations and liaise proactively with tax authorities on compliance matters including license-related updates.
  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors to facilitate timely completion of annual audits and issuance of audited financial statements.
  • Provide financial and tax advisory support to local and regional stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making across the business.
  • Monitor cash flow to guarantee sufficient funding for operational needs while overseeing petty cash disbursements and maintaining banking relationships.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the Hanoi office while supporting financial planning and analysis initiatives aimed at driving business performance and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth financial operations; maintain local accounting systems; drive process improvements; provide operational support including ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

What you bring:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing or finance.
  • Possess a valid Chief Accountant certificate.
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally within an international and professional service environment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in both Vietnamese (spoken and written) as well as excellent command of English.
  • Exhibit high attention to detail ensuring accuracy in data handling, reporting, and compliance activities within the finance function.
  • Display advanced analytical skills coupled with proactive problem-solving capabilities that contribute positively to business outcomes.
  • Bring proven discretion when dealing with confidential or sensitive information related to finance or personnel matters.
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and finance accounting systems.
