Head of Finance and Accounting (manufacturing and commercial)

A leading organisation in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking a Head of Finance and Accounting to oversee all financial and accounting operations, acting as a trusted advisor to the company management board. This pivotal position offers you the opportunity to shape the company’s financial future by ensuring transparency, protecting cash flow, and managing complex banking relationships within a high-volume export environment.

What you'll do:

As Head of Finance and Accounting, you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for the company’s financial health and internal compliance. Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Oversee all aspects of financial management including daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with both local (VAS) and international standards (IFRS).
• Serve as the primary financial advisor to the management board by delivering clear updates on performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop annual budgets and multi-year business plans that align with organisational goals, tracking monthly results against targets.
• Manage cash flow forecasts meticulously to protect liquidity while maintaining strong relationships with local and international banks.
• Handle exchange risks using hedging tools to safeguard profits from currency fluctuations in a high-volume export context.
• Lead all tax filings (VAT, CIT, PIT) accurately and on time, coordinating annual audits with external auditing firms for full transparency.
• Collaborate with Operations to monitor factory costs, maintain accurate product costing models, analyse spending variances, and evaluate investment returns.
• Supervise export payments, ensuring timely processing and compliance with global trade requirements.
• Coach and develop team members, fostering talent for future promotion through ongoing training initiatives.
• Work closely with HR, Production, Sales, and other department heads to ensure budgets remain aligned with overall business objectives.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Auditing.
• At least 12 years’ experience in finance or accounting roles within large-scale manufacturing or comsumer companies.
• A minimum of 5 years managing and developing people.
• Possession of a valid Chief Accountant Certificate or an international qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CMA.
• Advanced proficiency in leading ERP systems like SAP, Oracle or MS Dynamics.
• Experience using Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex bank relationships and export payments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration with HR, Production, Sales and executive leadership.
• Proficiency in English.
