Finance Manager (FMCG)

What you'll do:

As Finance Manager in this newly established FMCG business based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Finance & Accounting operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing financial reporting cycles according to Vietnamese standards; leading month-end closings; analysing performance metrics; supervising accounting functions; ensuring tax compliance; liaising with external stakeholders; setting up internal controls; spearheading budgeting exercises; supporting commercial teams with pricing strategies; managing cash flow planning; developing scalable systems; nurturing your finance team; and driving process improvements. Success in this role requires you to be proactive in identifying areas for improvement within the finance function while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance. You will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure efficient resource utilisation and contribute significantly to the company’s growth trajectory.

• Oversee the full spectrum of Finance & Accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and applicable regulations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, including management reporting and comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor financial performance, cash flow, working capital, and budgetary controls to provide actionable insights for business decisions.
• Provide detailed financial recommendations to management regarding business performance, profitability optimisation, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Supervise general accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets tracking, and inventory accounting.
• Ensure strict compliance with Vietnamese tax regulations such as VAT, CIT, PIT, alongside other statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, banks, and relevant regulatory bodies to maintain trust and transparency.
• Establish and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks that foster accuracy and reliability.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes while monitoring actual performance against budget targets.
• Build, develop, and manage a lean finance team by allocating resources effectively and driving operational efficiency.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required for this position.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounting with at least 2 years spent in managerial or team leadership roles.
• Experience within FMCG, consumer goods, retail sectors is highly preferred due to industry-specific demands.
• Strong technical knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements is essential.
• Proven track record managing full-spectrum Finance & Accounting operations including financial reporting cycles, budgeting processes, cash flow management and internal controls.
• Experience setting up or streamlining finance processes in newly established or fast-growing businesses is considered a strong advantage.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA Vietnam or ACCA are desirable but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated leadership skills combined with analytical thinking abilities for effective stakeholder management.
• Hands-on approach with adaptability suited for lean organisational structures and fast-paced environments.
• Good command of English language alongside proficiency in accounting/ERP systems is necessary for effective communication.
