Head of Business Controlling (Healthcare Manufacturing)

A European-based Medical Manufacturing company is seeking a Head of Business Controlling to join their leadership team based in the newly-built factory near Ho Chi Minh City (transportation allowance provided). Reporting directly to the GM, you'll be responsible for all finance and business controlling matters. The is an individual contributor role and requires a deep understanding of manufacturing finance, as well as a hands-on approach to build up processes from scratch.

What you’ll do

  • Build, implement, and oversee comprehensive financial processes, policies, and procedures that align with both corporate standards and governmental directives.
  • Partner with the Leadership Team to deliver insightful financial analysis that supports strategic planning and enhances operational efficiency across the factory.
  • Design and maintain advanced financial models, control boards, and performance indicators tailored specifically for a manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure all financial reporting requirements are met in a manner of accuracy, compliance, and timely, adhering to local Vietnamese regulations as well as internal Group policies.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost controlling processes to promote transparency and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively with external auditors and tax authorities, as well as outsourcing partners to ensure seamless financial operations and compliance.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the business by translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Build and maintain digital dashboards that provide real-time visibility on both financial and operational performance for management review.
  • Oversee all legal and compliance matters relevant to the factory (with support from a third-party legal advisor) including contracts, statutory reporting, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; professional certificates such as CMA, ACCA or CFA are highly preferable.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in Finance/Business Controlling roles, with a minimum of 5 years spent in leadership positions within a manufacturing environment; experience in medical production is advantageous.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, controlling processes (including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis etc.), reporting protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of building robust business controlling systems from the ground up.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics) alongside digital tools for efficient workflow management, including dashboards and financial modelling etc.
  • Exceptional ability to lead the collaboration with internal stakeholders while managing external partnerships (outsourcing partners/auditors/tax authorities) professionally.
  • Highly analytical mindset paired with strong finance business partnering skills, enabling delivery of meaningful insights beyond numerical data alone.
  • Excellent communication skills with a hands-on approach and fluency in both Vietnamese & English required.
