Finance Controller (Research Sector)

A leading multinational organisation in the research sector is seeking a Finance Controller to join their expanding team in Ha Noi. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting business leaders with financial planning, analysis, and performance monitoring within a global network renowned for its commitment to high-quality service.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to local business leaders, providing data-driven insights and performance tracking while ensuring all local operations strictly align with global corporate policies and compliance standards.

  • Lead the end-to-end annual budgeting and periodic rolling forecast processes. This includes defining timelines, designing planning tools, and coordinating with department heads to deliver accurate financial models aligned with long-term business goals.

  • Direct the month-end closing process, thoroughly reviewing actual performance against budget projections and targets. Ensure timely delivery of month-end reporting and essential accounting adjustments to regional/corporate hubs.

  • Conduct deep-dive financial analyses across different service lines, business units, and client portfolios to identify margin-improvement opportunities. Propose and implement corrective cost-control measures to keep overheads aligned with actual business activity.

  • Oversee Capex tracking and optimize net working capital. Actively manage liquidity by monitoring cash collection, inventory efficiency, and coordinating corporate funding or loan requests.

  • Supervise and develop local operational finance teams and driving high-priority ad-hoc projects as directed by company management.

What you bring:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) are a plus.

  • Brings 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate controlling and business partnering within structured multinational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring junior finance staff while driving overall team efficiency.

  • Highly responsive and agile mindset; strong time-management skills with a meticulous approach to data accuracy and risk management.

  • Exceptional English communication skills for regional or global stakeholder reporting.

  • Advanced proficiency in ERP (SAP, Oracle) and Excel for complex data analysis and financial reporting.
