What you'll do:
As an MEP Construction Manager based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of complex industrial projects from inception through completion. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing a talented site team comprised of engineers and supervisors while collaborating with outsourced consultants across various departments. You will be responsible for developing detailed construction plans that align with client objectives and overseeing every aspect of site operations - from procurement to commissioning. By leveraging advanced digital tools like Polaris app for document management and quality control processes, you will ensure seamless communication between stakeholders. Your ability to conduct thorough inspections, monitor progress against timelines, review technical submissions for accuracy, and maintain strict compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations will be crucial. * Lead, manage, and mentor a diverse team of MEP engineers and subcontractors across multiple industrial sites in Ho Chi Minh City.
* Develop comprehensive MEP construction plans and schedules tailored to each project’s unique requirements, ensuring timely completion.
* Oversee the recruitment, performance management, scheduling, and coordination meetings for the MEP site team to foster a nurturing work environment.
* Establish robust MEP QA/QC management systems using digital tools such as Polaris app for technical submissions, document management, quality checklists, safety observations, testing & commissioning.
* Direct the site team through all construction phases including subcontractor coordination and site management activities.
* Ensure all project briefs, design specifications, MEP drawings, and relevant information are executed precisely according to client objectives.
* Liaise with suppliers of electrical systems, specialty equipment, plumbing materials, fire safety solutions, HVAC components to guarantee compliance with project specifications.
* Supervise procurement processes for materials and equipment with special attention to long lead items; collaborate closely with vendors for timely delivery.
* Review technical submittals including materials, shop drawings, method statements; provide recommendations for final approval by stakeholders.
* Monitor installation progress of MEP systems for quality assurance and safety compliance; initiate corrective actions for any non-conformance issues.
* Conduct regular site inspections to verify that all MEP work is progressing according to established timelines and standards.
* Oversee commissioning and testing of MEP systems to ensure proper functionality before handover.
* Participate actively in project risk analysis sessions; propose proactive solutions for handling potential challenges.
* Prepare detailed progress reports for inclusion in overall project documentation; submit relevant certificates for payment processing as required by contractors.
* Ensure contract requirements are met by requesting as-built documentation from design teams and contractors including installation drawings and maintenance manuals.
What you bring:

* Possess a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferably Mechanical) along with Construction & Supervision Certificate in either discipline.
* Bring at least 10 years experience managing MEP works on industrial sites such as factories or logistics warehouses - including clean rooms - demonstrating dependability throughout your career.
* Show advanced technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical & plumbing works plus infrastructure construction methods relevant to industrial environments.
* Demonstrate strong leadership abilities by mentoring teams effectively within multicultural settings; previous experience managing expatriate teams in Asia is highly valued.
* Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling clear reporting of site instructions/memos/meeting minutes that are easily understood by all stakeholders.
* Display intermediate proficiency with project management software including Microsoft Project, Excel & Office Suite; familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) is desirable.
* Understand Vietnam-specific regulations related to construction/fire fighting/electrical/environmental standards ensuring full compliance at every stage of the project.
* Apply advanced attention to detail when reviewing contractual requirements/design drawings/quality standards associated with MEP works.
* Utilise intermediate client management skills such as negotiation/persuasiveness/interpersonal communication fostering positive relationships with clients/vendors/subcontractors.
* Show willingness to work daily - including overtime - and manage multiple projects simultaneously as required by operational demands; demonstrate loyalty/honesty/dedication throughout.
