We're currently hiring for a global manufacturer of automotive thermal management and HVAC systems, serving leading vehicle manufacturers worldwide.
This role is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring efficient, high-quality production. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams to introduce new products, optimise production processes, resolve manufacturing issues, and support operational excellence in a fast-paced automotive environment.

What you'll do
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting daily manufacturing operations while driving process improvements across production. Working closely with quality, maintenance, production, and supplier teams, you will ensure stable manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and support the successful launch of new products.

Manufacturing Engineering (50%)
• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and mass production support.
• Develop and optimise manufacturing processes, production lines, tooling, and factory layouts.
• Conduct capacity planning, takt time and cycle time analysis, and support machine installation, commissioning, and production trials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Maintenance & Automation (30%)
• Support PLC-based automation systems, equipment commissioning, and machine troubleshooting.
• Monitor equipment performance, minimise downtime, and support preventive maintenance and spare parts management.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve equipment and automation issues.

Quality Engineering (20%)
Support compliance with IATF16949, APQP, PPAP, and other automotive quality standards.
• Investigate manufacturing and quality issues, implementing corrective actions to improve
process performance.
• Promote a strong quality mindset through inspection, measurement, and continuous
quality improvement.

What you bring
To succeed in this role, you will have experience within automotive or industrial manufacturing, together with a strong understanding of manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement principles.
You need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years' manufacturing engineering experience within automotive or industrial manufacturing, preferably in a Tier 1 supplier environment.
• Strong knowledge of IATF16949, PPAP, APQP, and manufacturing quality systems.
• Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and mass production.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process development, line balancing, capacity planning, and factory layout design.
• Experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight.
• Hands-on experience with production equipment installation, commissioning, and process validation.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems, preferably Mitsubishi PLC.
• Familiarity with industrial automation components, including sensors, conveyors, motors, pneumatic systems, and vision systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and production issues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
