SMT Engineering Lead

SMT ENGINEERING LEAD Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Ben Cat, Binh Duong

We're supporting our client - a global electronics manufacturer specialising in power electronics and power supply solutions - in hiring a Surface Mount Technology Engineering Lead to join their manufacturing team in Ben Cat.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive continuous improvement of production line equipment, tooling, fixtures, processes, and working practices to improve efficiency and production capacity.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and periodic maintenance/calibration of machinery, equipment, and tooling to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot production line issues, analyse daily exceptions, and implement corrective actions to maintain stable production efficiency and quality.
• Evaluate, implement, and monitor SMT processes and operating systems to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance of SMT equipment, including programming, setup, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Monitor manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, output, quality, and safety.
• Work closely with supervisors and production teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure compliance with company safety requirements.
• Participate in relevant training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
• University degree or equivalent qualification in Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in SMT processes and equipment.
• Experience programming, setting up, loading, and troubleshooting SMT equipment.
• Good understanding of SMT production processes and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of RoHS, no-clean processes, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Comfortable using ERP systems and other manufacturing-related software.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
