• Take charge of all plant engineering functions, overseeing machinery performance, maintenance systems, and technology upgrades to ensure maximum output and minimum waste.
• Lead a dedicated technical team of 13 professionals across mechanical, electrical, weaving mechanics, cutting-sewing mechanics, and general technical disciplines, fostering an inclusive and supportive culture.

What you'll do:

As Engineering Manager at this advanced manufacturing facility in Long An, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operation of all technical aspects related to woven production. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing a wide array of machinery—from extrusion lines to sewing stations—by monitoring their performance through detailed technical parameters. You will work collaboratively with QA/QC teams to address any root-cause issues impacting product quality. Building robust maintenance systems is central to your remit: you will establish preventive and predictive routines that keep unplanned downtime at bay. Continuous improvement is at the heart of this role; you will initiate projects that boost speed and output while reducing manual labour requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining optimal spare parts inventory and evaluating suppliers for quality and cost effectiveness. Leading a skilled team of technicians requires careful shift scheduling and KPI setting alongside ongoing training initiatives. Staying abreast of industry trends means attending trade fairs or supplier visits abroad—where you’ll assess new technologies for potential adoption. Ultimately your success will be measured by how effectively you drive operational stability while supporting ambitious growth targets through innovation and collaboration.

• Manage the complete fleet of machinery including yarn extrusion lines, circular looms, laminating equipment, cutting machines, sewing stations, printing units, and auxiliary devices to maximise uptime and minimise faults.
• Monitor equipment condition using technical parameters such as downtime history, output rates, speed metrics, defect rates, and failure analysis rather than relying solely on technician reports.
• Collaborate closely with QA/QC teams to resolve root-cause technical issues affecting product quality through data-driven problem-solving approaches.
• Build and lead a comprehensive Preventive → Predictive → Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system that minimises unplanned downtime via structured maintenance planning.
• Initiate and drive continuous improvement projects targeting faster speeds, higher output per person, reduced manual labour requirements, lower headcount needs, decreased defects/waste levels, optimised material and energy consumption, reduced downtime periods, and increased process automation.
• Lead improvement projects from initial problem identification through root cause analysis to solution design, cost/benefit evaluation, trial implementation, standardisation of successful outcomes.
• Maintain a standard spare-parts catalogue with safety stock levels for critical components; evaluate suppliers based on quality standards and cost efficiency.
• Manage shift scheduling and workload allocation across the technical team; set KPIs for mechanical/electrical/machine-setting technicians; train/upskill staff; standardise SOPs for operators/team leads.
• Track new machinery/technology trends within the woven PP industry; evaluate manufacturers/suppliers by comparing specifications/capacity/automation level/energy use/ROI; attend trade fairs/exhibitions/supplier visits; lead investment proposals/FAT/SAT/installation/commissioning/acceptance processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Automation Technology, Polymer/Plastics Technology or Power Engineering Management is required for this position.
• Minimum seven years’ experience in plant technical roles with at least three years spent in technical/maintenance/technology management within manufacturing environments.
• Direct hands-on experience in PP packaging/woven bags/plastics/yarn weaving/laminated film manufacturing is essential for success in this role.
• Proven track record of leading two or three machinery improvement projects with quantifiable results demonstrating your commitment to continuous improvement.
• Solid understanding of OEE principles combined with Kaizen or Lean methodologies for process optimisation.
• Ability to read technical drawings/electrical schematics plus working knowledge of PLC control/basic automation programming (Mitsubishi/Delta/Siemens), inverters & servo systems.
• Dependable team management skills demonstrated under pressure during production incidents; able to nurture talent through training/upskilling initiatives.
• Data-driven approach to problem solving including downtime root-cause analysis & incident tracking methods.
• English proficiency at a working technical level enabling you to read manuals/catalogues & communicate directly with overseas engineers/suppliers; willingness to travel internationally for exhibitions/supplier visits.
• Chinese language skills are considered a strong advantage but not mandatory.
