MAINTENANCE MANAGER Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Tay Ninh

We're currently hiring for a Maintenance Manager for a leading heavy-industry manufacturer specialising in metal components and long-pipe production.

About the role
You will lead the maintenance function across mechanical, electrical and automation disciplines, developing a structured maintenance strategy that supports production continuity, product quality and long-term asset performance. The role combines hands-on reliability management with team leadership, continuous improvement, budgeting and cross-functional collaboration.

Key highlights

• Drive the transition from reactive maintenance towards preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, SHE, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, HR and external partners.
• Develop team capability through coaching, training, cross-training and succession planning.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Strategy & Asset Management
• Develop and execute a 3 - 5 year reliability roadmap, annual maintenance plan and monthly priorities aligned with production and business objectives.
• Establish maintenance policies, standards, workflows, service levels and escalation procedures.
• Manage asset master data, criticality assessments and maintenance strategies across the plant.
• Lead repair-versus-replace, refurbishment and asset renewal decisions based on risk and total cost of ownership.
• Ensure production assets, utilities and infrastructure remain safe, compliant, reliable and fit for purpose.
Maintenance Planning & Reliability
• Implement disciplined work-order processes covering planning, scheduling, execution, verification and closure.
• Develop and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance programmes based on equipment requirements, failure history, asset criticality and operating conditions.
• Apply condition-monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound and other relevant methods.
• Monitor MTBF, MTTR, downtime, repeat failures and maintenance costs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead root-cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives using tools such as FMEA, RCM and structured problem-solving.
Breakdown, Safety & Compliance
• Lead the response to critical equipment failures, ensuring safe isolation, effective communication, quality repairs and verified return to service.
• Ensure temporary repairs are risk-assessed, controlled and followed through to permanent resolution.
• Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, company QMS and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Promote strong safety practices covering energy isolation, machine guarding, electrical safety, hot work, lifting, confined spaces, working at height, chemicals and PPE.
• Participate in audits, non-conformity investigations and corrective actions.
Utilities, Spare Parts & Cost Management
• Ensure utilities and infrastructure have appropriate capacity, redundancy, preventive maintenance and contingency plans.
• Monitor utility reliability, consumption and losses, and support energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Manage equipment BOMs and risk-based spare-parts levels to balance availability with inventory cost.
• Approve technical specifications and ensure appropriate control of spare parts, tools, testing equipment and repairable components.
• Prepare and control maintenance operating and capital budgets based on asset condition, production requirements, risk and lifecycle cost.
People & Stakeholder Management
• Lead and develop Maintenance Supervisors, Engineers, Planners and Technicians across mechanical, electrical and automation disciplines.
• Establish clear objectives, competency requirements, training plans and performance expectations.
• Build succession plans and promote knowledge sharing through mentoring, standard work, lessons learned and cross-training.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, SHE, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, HR, IT and external service providers.

Key Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance/engineering within heavy manufacturing environments, with 4–6 years leading multi-disciplinary maintenance teams.
• Experience in heavy industry such as foundry, steel, metal processing or similar environments.
• Exposure to casting, steel or pipe manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics and machine safety, with deeper expertise in at least one discipline.
• Proficiency in CMMS and enterprise systems, with the ability to analyse work-order, downtime, cost, inventory and equipment-condition data.
• Practical understanding of ISO 9001 and document control.
• Good working English for technical documentation, supplier communication, audits and management reporting.
• Chinese language skills are an advantage.
• Certifications in maintenance/reliability, 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, project management or energy management are advantageous.
