A leading global import and sourcing company is seeking a Product Planner based in Ho Chi Minh to become the operational backbone of their project lifecycle, connecting Asia-based manufacturing with North American retail partners. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in a fast-moving environment where your attention to detail and collaborative spirit will directly impact major retail programmes. As the central point of contact between regional teams and US-based leadership, you will enjoy real-time visibility into factory and supplier activity, ensuring seamless communication and project delivery across continents. The organisation values accountability, flexibility, and offers a high-ownership position where your contributions are both visible and valued. If you thrive in complexity and are eager to make a tangible difference within a supportive team, this role offers the perfect platform for your growth.

  • Be the key link between Asia-based operations and North American retail partners, ensuring projects run smoothly from vendor qualification through to delivery while enjoying direct proximity to sourcing, development, quality control, and logistics teams.
  • Take ownership of the master project timeline, maintaining its accuracy and integrity while communicating updates across international teams, giving you real influence over critical business outcomes.
  • Enjoy a high-visibility role with opportunities for professional development in a collaborative environment that rewards initiative, supports flexible working arrangements, and recognises your impact on large-scale retail programmes.

What you'll do:

As a Product Planner based in Ho Chi Minh, you will serve as the linchpin of cross-border project execution—ensuring every stage from vendor qualification through final delivery is meticulously tracked and communicated. Your day-to-day will involve close collaboration with diverse teams across Asia’s manufacturing landscape while providing essential updates to US-based stakeholders. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the master project timeline using advanced project management tools, identifying risks before they escalate into problems, and preparing comprehensive reports that keep everyone aligned. By translating on-the-ground realities into actionable insights for senior leaders abroad, you will ensure that projects stay on track and meet ambitious delivery targets. Your ability to coordinate resources efficiently and communicate clearly across time zones will be crucial to your success in this highly visible role.

  • Maintain and govern the active project list using Monday.com, ensuring all timelines, owners, and statuses are consistently up-to-date and accurate for seamless project tracking.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks, delays, or phase conflicts early on and proactively propose solutions to prevent client-facing issues before they arise.
  • Coordinate daily with sourcing, development, merchandising, quality assurance, and logistics teams throughout Asia as the primary in-region escalation point for supplier, materials, or scheduling concerns.
  • Translate complex operational realities into clear and concise project health reports tailored for US-based Senior Account Managers to support informed decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed exception reports covering timeline changes, quality issues, and risk items for review by senior account management.
  • Propose buffer recommendations on project timelines while communicating realistic On Time In Full (OTIF) expectations to help achieve a 95%+ delivery rate.
  • Flag resource peaks and workload bottlenecks to leadership proactively so that capacity challenges can be addressed collaboratively.
  • Work towards independently managing routine client-facing 'Business As Usual' project updates with appropriate escalation protocols for sensitive matters or deviations from client expectations.

What you bring:

To excel as a Product Planner in this organisation’s global supply chain network, you will bring proven expertise in managing complex projects within fast-paced import/export environments—ideally spanning apparel or consumer goods sectors. Your background should include hands-on use of digital project management tools such as Monday.com to maintain transparency across multiple workstreams. Strong communication skills are vital since you’ll act as a bridge between local teams in Asia and senior stakeholders overseas. A deep understanding of manufacturing processes in Vietnam or Southeast Asia allows you to anticipate challenges before they impact timelines. Your meticulous approach ensures data accuracy at every step while your adaptability helps you navigate shifting priorities across different cultures and time zones. Experience collaborating with North American retailers or supporting remote sourcing teams further enhances your ability to deliver results in this interconnected setting.

  • At least three years’ experience in project coordination, production planning or supply chain operations within apparel, hardgoods, consumer goods or related import/export environments is required.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Monday.com or similar project management platforms is essential for effective workflow tracking and reporting.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills are necessary as you will communicate daily with US-based account managers and leadership teams.
  • A strong understanding of factory workflows, production calendars, and quality control processes within Vietnam or Southeast Asia’s manufacturing ecosystem is highly desirable.
  • A keen eye for data integrity enables you to spot inconsistencies quickly and resolve them without prompting.
  • Comfortable working across multiple time zones; regular overlap with US hours (Vietnam mornings) is expected as part of your routine responsibilities.
  • Experience coordinating with North American retailers would be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Background working on either the vendor or factory side provides valuable perspective when navigating supply chain complexities.
  • Familiarity with import compliance requirements, shipping documentation or incoterms would be beneficial for supporting end-to-end project delivery.
  • Previous experience supporting US or Western-based sourcing teams remotely is considered an asset.
