Quality Manager (Sporting Goods)

Quality Manager Location: Ho Chi Minh Salary: Competitive, based on experience Local Vietnamese Only

We’re currently supporting the global sporting goods company – specializing in branded and licensed sports equipment and accessories for international sports brands – in identifying a new Quality Manager for their business in Asia.

Key Responsibilities
Product Quality
• Establish and maintain quality standards, testing protocols, and inspection programs.
• Ensure products meet performance, durability, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Product Development, Design, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues, customer complaints, warranty claims, and returns.

Process & Continuous Improvement
• Develop and improve quality systems, SOPs, and process controls.
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, FMEA, Lean, or similar methodologies.
• Monitor and report quality, supplier, and operational KPIs.

Supplier Quality Management
• Audit and manage manufacturing partners across Asia and other sourcing regions.
• Drive supplier compliance, performance improvement, and quality capability development.
• Conduct factory audits and support supplier training initiatives.

Compliance & Testing
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and product safety regulations.
• Coordinate with third-party testing laboratories.
• Maintain audit documentation and quality reporting.


Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 10+ years of quality management experience within sporting goods, consumer products, apparel, footwear, or related manufacturing industries.
• Strong experience across both product quality and manufacturing process quality.
• Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing partners, particularly in Asia.
• Solid knowledge of quality systems, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, ERP, and PLM platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred
• CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with sustainability and ethical manufacturing programs.
• Familiarity with ASTM, AATCC, and ISO testing standards for sporting goods, footwear, or apparel.
