We’re supporting our client – a leading manufacturing and export company specialising in synthetic twine, rope and cable-pulling products, serving customers across the US, Australia, Asia and domestic markets.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Quality to lead the Quality function covering Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Laboratory, Calibration and Customer Quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement the annual Quality Strategy and Quality Plan across four manufacturing plants, with a strong focus on shifting from defect detection to defect prevention.
• Own key Quality KPIs including First Pass Yield (FPY), Cost of Quality (COQ), customer complaint rate and scrap rate.
• Lead and develop the Quality team, including QC Manager, Calibration Supervisor and Laboratory personnel, while building a strong Zero Defect and Customer-First culture.
• Oversee in-process QC, final inspection, laboratory testing, calibration and product quality assurance across all manufacturing sites.
• Lead ISO 9001 compliance and continuous improvement, including internal/external audits, Quality Manual and SOP development, corrective actions and product traceability.
• Act as the key point of contact for international customer audits and quality requirements, particularly customers from the US, Australia and Asia.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of major customer complaints, including 8D reporting, root-cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and Voice of Customer initiatives.
• Drive quality improvement and cost-reduction initiatives covering scrap, rework, warranty and other quality-related costs.
• Partner closely with Production, Process Engineering, Planning, E&M, HSE, Procurement and Customer Service to strengthen process control and quality performance.
• Lead the development of SPC, Cp/Cpk, FMEA, MSA and other advanced Quality tools across the organisation.
• Identify opportunities for Quality innovation, including inline QC, sensors and Industry 4.0 applications.
• Ensure the organisation maintains strong product traceability, inspection standards and quality controls from raw materials through to finished-goods delivery.
Key Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer, Textile, Chemistry or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of Quality experience, including at least 3 years at Head of Quality, Quality Director or equivalent leadership level.
• Proven experience leading Quality functions within manufacturing and export environments, ideally across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Strong experience working with US and/or Australian customers, particularly customer audits, quality requirements and complaint resolution.
• Demonstrated experience managing Quality Managers/Supervisors and technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, 8D, FMEA, SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA, RCA, control charts and sampling plans.
• Experience in continuous manufacturing, synthetic fibres/polymer, textile, rope/twine, industrial manufacturing or FMCG export manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of laboratory and calibration management; exposure to ISO 17025 is an advantage.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence Production and other functions while maintaining independent Quality standards.
• Business-level English is required for customer audits, technical communication and preparation of quality reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a data-driven approach to Quality management.

• Cost of Quality: <2% of revenue
• Customer complaints: 20% year-on-year reduction
• Scrap rate: <3%
• ISO 9001 audit pass rate: 100%

• On-time 8D reporting: 100%
• VIP customer satisfaction: 95%+
• Quality team engagement: 80%+
