What you'll do:

As Deputy Technical Manager – Coatings, your daily responsibilities will revolve around developing robust procedures for product development and quality control that align with corporate standards. You will play a pivotal role in supervising ISO-related activities to ensure certifications are achieved and maintained. Your expertise will be crucial in localising products to meet specific business requirements while ensuring they perform according to customer specifications. Managing the Lab and Quality Control team will require you to optimise workflows for cost efficiency, safety, quality enhancement, and environmental protection. You will also be responsible for formulating work programmes, examining lab processes for improvement opportunities, executing assigned projects efficiently across departments, developing new products on time with precise quality standards, analysing existing products for cost optimisation without sacrificing technical requirements, leading RM replacement projects for cost competitiveness while maintaining high-quality standards, designing application processes for developed products both in laboratory settings and online environments to support customers effectively. Additionally, you will visit customers as needed to provide technical services; introduce new products at customer sites; resolve line issues promptly by delivering sustainable solutions. Success in this role requires a commitment to collaboration across functions as well as supporting team members’ personal development.

• Develop, monitor, and implement product development procedures as well as quality control policies according to corporate standards to ensure raw materials meet production requirements and products satisfy customer expectations.
• Supervise ISO-related activities to secure certification and maintain the quality assurance system within the company, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Participate in the localisation of 4W products to meet business requirements while guaranteeing product performance aligns with customer specifications.
• Manage and guide the Lab and Quality Control team in accordance with business needs, optimising workflows for cost efficiency, quality enhancement, safety improvement, and environmental protection.
• Formulate and document work programmes and objectives; examine lab workflows regarding costs, resources, processes, quality, safety, and environmental protection; implement optimisation measures using the latest techniques.
• Execute assigned tasks or projects efficiently to achieve organisational goals by collaborating across functions and departments.
• Develop new products on schedule with precise quality standards; analyse and modify existing products for cost optimisation without compromising technical requirements.
• Lead RM replacement projects for cost competitiveness relating to resins, pigments, solvents, additives while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Design suitable application processes for developed products both in the laboratory and online settings to support customers effectively.
• Visit customers as required to provide technical services; introduce new products and technologies at customer sites; resolve line issues promptly by providing sustainable solutions.

What you bring:

Your background as Deputy Technical Manager – Coatings should include a degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field along with substantial experience—at least five years—in coatings or similar industries. You will bring comprehensive knowledge of automotive coatings ingredients as well as formulation technology which enables you to develop innovative solutions tailored specifically for customer needs. Experience with OEM lines further strengthens your understanding of operational requirements while managerial skills allow you to guide teams through complex projects smoothly.
