You will be instrumental in new line start-ups, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams and sharing your knowledge throughout the region. The organisation values flexibility, cultural awareness, and a structured approach, offering extensive training opportunities and the chance to travel widely within SEA and China. If you are passionate about surface treatment processes and thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment where your interpersonal skills and technical know-how can make a real impact, this is the perfect role for you.

  • You will have the chance to work directly with key strategic accounts across Southeast Asia, supporting both immediate troubleshooting needs and long-term process optimisation projects.

  • This position offers significant travel within SEA and China, allowing you to expand your network and collaborate with diverse teams while contributing to innovative solutions in surface treatment.

What you'll do:

As a Technical Field Support Specialist based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will play a pivotal role in supporting customer lines throughout Southeast Asia. Your day-to-day activities will involve providing expert technical assistance at client sites—especially within the automotive sector—ensuring seamless start-ups of new production lines or switches. You will conduct thorough surveys of strategic accounts to pinpoint areas for improvement while maintaining high-quality standards through regular follow-ups with local teams. By leveraging your analytical skills, you will evaluate process data to uncover optimisation opportunities that enhance operational performance. Your responsibilities also include delivering comprehensive training sessions for customers across the region, documenting lessons learned from troubleshooting activities, and sharing best practices. You will proactively manage ad hoc tasks related to customer projects, adapt swiftly to changing priorities, promote standardised documentation practices using digital tools, and foster collaborative teamwork by acting as an effective communication bridge between local operations and regional management. Success in this role requires a structured mindset, openness to frequent travel within SEA and China for training purposes, cultural sensitivity when interacting with diverse colleagues, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Provide on-site technical support for customer lines in Southeast Asia, focusing on automotive OEMs, automotive components, ACE, and industrial clients by addressing troubleshooting needs and optimising processes.
  • Oversee new line start-ups and switches by applying technical procedures and product application expertise to ensure smooth transitions and quality standards.
  • Conduct surveys of key strategic accounts to identify areas for continuous improvement, offering suggestions and support that drive operational excellence.
  • Follow up on monthly reports with local teams to secure quality standards and meet customer expectations through diligent monitoring and communication.
  • Support sales teams in gaining new customer projects by consulting on plant layout design and optimisation initiatives tailored to client requirements.
  • Evaluate process data analytically to identify optimisation opportunities, document findings, suggest improvements, and share best practices across the region.
  • Deliver guidance and training to customers throughout SEA by preparing documentation, sharing troubleshooting experiences, and fostering effective knowledge transfer.
  • Take initiative in managing ad hoc tasks related to customer projects by adapting quickly to new responsibilities and collaborating closely with sales and segment teams.
  • Drive standardisation of line documentation while promoting the use of digital tools such as Vista or GardoVision for enhanced compliance and efficiency.
  • Engage actively with cross-functional internal and external teams by demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, acting as a communication link between local and regional stakeholders.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Technical Field Support Specialist will be invaluable in this role. You bring deep expertise in surface treatment processes gained from at least five years working within the industry—enabling you to address complex troubleshooting challenges at customer sites efficiently. Your educational background equips you with the theoretical foundation needed for chemical pretreatment operations; however, it is your practical experience that sets you apart. You possess excellent English communication skills or demonstrate openness toward enhancing them further through dedicated courses. Your ability to collaborate effectively within multicultural teams ensures harmonious interactions across Southeast Asia’s diverse workforce. You are adept at consulting on plant layout designs or optimisation strategies that help sales teams secure new projects.
